Payea seeks to break his own record

SCARBOROUGH, Maine – Scott Payea of Colchester, Vt. will attempt to extend his record-setting American Canadian Tour (ACT) winning streak in the Coastal 100 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway Saturday, August 5.

Payea recently drove the Harrison Redi-Mix Dodge Charger No. 37 to a record fourth straight Late Model win at Seekonk Speedway – despite being passed for the lead twice.

The Seekonk victory was Payea’s 12th on the American Canadian Tour. It moved him into fifth place on the all-time ACT Late Model win list.

Dillon Moltz of Waterford, Conn., Rich Dubeau of Lebanon, NH, Jimmy Hebert of Williamstown, Vt., Jason Corliss of Barre, Vt. and Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Mass. are among the drivers who will attempt to end Payea’s streak.

Corliss, an ACT Rookie of the Year contender, is currently fourth in the championship point standings. He finished a close second to Payea at Seekonk.

MacDonald has four top-5’s in his last four ACT appearances at Beech Ridge including a 2013 win.

Beech Ridge Motor Speedway is located on 70 Holmes Road in Scarborough, Maine, one-half mile from the Maine Turnpike.

Grandstands open at 3 p.m. Qualifying events begin at 7 p.m. The NASCAR Nites Pro Series, Sport Series and Wildcat divisions will also be in action. Adult admission/$25 – Kids 12 and under admitted free.
