PRO STOCK TOUR HEADS TO SCENIC PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND FOR LUCAS OIL 150

(Halifax, NS, Aug 1, 2017) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is heading to Oyster Bed Speedway this Saturday, August 5th for the Lucas Oil 150. This is the only stop on Prince Edward Island this season for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. The Lucas Oil 150 marks race eight of twelve on the season for the Maritime based stock car racing series. Qualifying for the Lucas Oil 150 gets underway with Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races at 6:00 PM.

The contingent of drivers hailing from Prince Edward Island will look to defend their home turf for the first time since Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE) drove to victory lane at Oyster Bed Speedway in 2015. Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE), Kent Vincent (Westmoreland, PE) and Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) are all former winners in Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour competition at their home track while Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) enters the race fourth in the standings – the highest of any Islander driver on the Series.

Allison MacKinnon (Oyster Bed Bridge, PE), Terry Dougay (Albany, PE), Chris Hughes (Brackley Beach, PE) and Exide Batteries Rookie Robbie MacEwen (Sherwood, PE) will all look for their first Tour win in front of their hometown crowd on Saturday. Troy Burke (Harrington, PE) will make his Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour debut in the Lucas Oil 150, driving for former Pro Stock Tour regular Kris Fournier. Burke is the ninth different driver to make his Series debut in 2017.

The chase for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Championship is tight as the second half of the season heats up. Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) with three wins this season maintains the point lead heading into the Lucas Oil 150. Blenkhorn’s closest competitor is two-time Series champion Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) who will be looking to close the 35 point gap this Saturday. Current Series champ Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) continues to climb his way to the top of the leader board, jumping another position to sit third following his second place finish at the Irving Blending & Packaging 150. Hometown fans will surely be cheering for Dylan Gosbee and Greg Proude Saturday as they enter the event sitting fourth and fifth respectively in the standings.
