Florida Invader Danny Anderson Takes Mr. Rooter Event At NLWS
-Duane Noll Takes NLWS Trucks-

WATERFORD, CT (August 2, 2017): After two groups of qualifying was complete it was Long Island’s Corey Coats and Florida’s Danny Anderson sitting on the front row for the 35-lap Mr. Rooter / NLWS Trucks combination event at the NLWS.

As the green flag waved it was Corey Coates pulling out to the lead with Anderson in tow. The caution flag will quickly appear as Al Stone III spun his #1 Truck between turns three and four. While the field was under caution Corey Coates ducked pit side with suspension issues on the #81 truck.

The race would go green with Anderson shooting out to the lead in the Anderson Auto Repair sponsored #50 over Allen Coates in the Dunleavey’s Truck and Trailer Repairs #99. In tow was Jim Boyle and Duane Noll both in contention for the NLWS Trucks points championship.

As soon as the green flag waved to restart the feature, the yellow was back out waving for a false start. Allen Coates on the restart put pressure from the outside on Anderson and the duo battles side-by-side for the lead. Jim Boyle a regular at the NLWS made several attempts to gain a position by perusing the bottom groove.

By lap-15 the top five trucks were Anderson, Allen Coates, Gerard Giordano Jr, Jim Boyle and Joshua Stringer in the #29 truck.

Duane Noll the NLWS Trucks points leader snuck his #2VT truck into the top-5 as the group started pulling away from the rest of the field.

The caution flag would wave on lap-33 for the #42 Teddy Bear Graphics sponsored truck of Frank Dumicich Jr who was facing the wrong way between turns three and four.

As the field was getting ready for a three-lap shootout, the start was waved off as the officials wanted to view the #2CT truck of Jim Boyle. Boyle’s truck was showing signs of smoke when Boyle pressed on the gas. The officials let Boyle stay in place and the green flag was shown to the field.

As the green flag, waved Coates could make the outside groove stick and battled Anderson side-by-side going for the lead. While the battle for the lead was going on the #2CT of Boyle showed smoke and was backing up by dropping to the seventh spot on the field.

Anderson out muscle Coates and took the checkered flag for the win as Coates just couldn’t hold the outside groove. The win was Anderson’s first on the series.

Duane Noll was the first NLWS Truck and took down the win in the combination race for The NLWS Trucks.

“I want to thank the competitors for a great race and the fans for coming out,” commented Anderson in Victory Lane. “The long trip up to the NLWS was worth it and we’re looking forward to racing again,” finished up Anderson.

“It wasn’t a bad night for us. I was rooting for Corey and I saw he broke so I took things into my hands and had a great race,” commented Coates.
