June 16, 2013, North Andover MA — Members of the National El Camino Owners Association (NECOA) returned this past weekend for their 5th visit to Lee USA Speedway for their annual Parade Laps and “Burnout Contest.” Track Owner Red McDonald hosted the owners of these unique vehicles to put on a show for race fans just before the feature races of the night to allow the NASCAR drivers more time to ready themselves after their qualifying heats.

33 El Caminos from all over New England put on an entertaining show for the race fans with their rainbow of colors in these half-car/half-truck vehicles, produced from 1959 through 1987 by General Motors. For the second year in a row, Aj DiRocco of Pelham, NH won the burn out contest by a clear majority of the cheering fans and did not have to face off against other El Camino drivers. To put an exclamation point on his win, Aj did a finale “smoke” in which he took care of any mosquitoes near the Lee track and blew his tires for good measure to the delight of spectators.
