GSPS2Walpole, NH-    For two Granite State Pro Stock (GSPSS) drivers, a win at the inaugural NH Classic at Star Speedway would be redemption at Star Speedway.

Joey Squeglia, JR has been fast at each race he’s attended all year, including races at Monadnock Speedway, Lee USA Speedway, and Star Speedway.  The Derry, NH driver started on the pole for the August 16th race at his home track, Star Speedway in Epping, NH, and led early in the race, but had to fight his way back through the field after a trip down pit road with a flat right rear tire, finishing 7th.  To win the NH Classic at his home track, where he was a champion in the Outlaw division a year ago, would be a step in the right direction, according to the pilot of the Auto Mart Trucks + Cars/PH Electric/George Cairns + Sons Chevrolet.  “We would like nothing more than to win on Star Classic night!” says Squeglia.  “Luck has not been on our side at our home track, but we are going to try and turn that around this weekend.  We need a well handling car and to be patient, with some luck sprinkled on top.”

Another driver looking for redemption at the NH Classic is Dillon Moltz.  Moltz, driving for Mark Brackett in the Brackett Mechanical/RB Performance Chevrolet, had one get away from him in the June race at the ¼ mile in Epping, NH.  Moltz had set a blistering pace, before an incident with a lapped automobile sent the Waterford, CT to the rear of the field.  Moltz climbed back to the second spot, but was disappointed to walk away without a win.  Moltz has been a threat to win most every race this year, but luck has not been on the 23 year-old’s side as well, as the former Waterford Speedbowl champ has had just about everything possible happen to him, preventing Moltz from picking up his first ever GSPSS victory.  To be first across the line at the NH Classic would give a bit of redemption to the #5 team.

The NH Classic was added to the September 6th event at Star Speedway as part of the 48th running of the E.F. Shea Concrete Star Classic, a landmark race for the ISMA Super Modifieds.  The GSPSS will join ISMA, Woody’s Strictly Stocks, Allen’s Outlaws, and the Roadrunner divisions for 330 laps of green flag feature action.

The NH Classic will take place on Saturday, September 6th, at Star Speedway in Epping, NH.  Heats will begin at 4:45PM, with pit gates opening at 10:30AM.  General admission for the 48th running of the E.F. Shea Concrete Classic 150 is $35, seniors and juniors $30, and children (10 and under) free with a paid adult.  For more information on Star Speedway, visit www.star-speedway.com.  For more information on the Granite State Pro Stock Series, visit www.gspss.net.  Star Speedway is located on Route 27 in Epping, NH.
