Walpole, NH- With the New Year just a few weeks away, the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS) has been hard at work in preparing for the 2015 season. The result is an eleven-race, diverse schedule, with a return to two different speedways, formerly on the young touring series schedule.

The beginning of the 2015 will be under familiar settings, with a return to the Icebreaker at the historic Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP) in Thompson, CT. TSMP will be celebrating their seventy-fifth year in existence, and will run the Icebreaker on April 10-12. This will be the third time in four years TSMP has been the opening act for the GSPSS.

The GSPSS will return to Claremont Speedway (formerly Twin State Speedway) on Saturday, April 25. Claremont Speedway was purchased by a group of four individuals, who made the official announcement last week. The GSPSS held their inaugural race in 2011 at the 1/3 mile track, won by Chris Wilk.

With Speedway 51 (formerly Riverside Speedway) under the new ownership of racer Joey Laquerre, the Groveton, NH raceway will host the GSPSS for a 151 lap special on July 4. Wayne Helliwell, JR won the only race held for the series at the ¼ mile, high-banked oval in 2012.

“I am really excited to be able to bring the series back to Claremont Speedway, as well as Speedway 51,” declared series president Mike Parks. “A lot of our competitors have turned many laps at the Claremont oval. We’re thrilled to bring our series there on Opening Night next season.” Parks was also quick to show his enthusiasm with the return to northern New Hampshire. “With Joey Laquerre now at the helm, Speedway 51 is just as exciting with the series. Being on July 4, it’s a great weekend to get away, and it’s the type of track our competitors like”.
With two strong car counts at inaugural races in 2013, the GSPSS will return to Lee USA Speedway (July 24) and White Mountain Motorsports Park (August 1). Both tracks saw tough competition, and down the wire finishes, with Joey Polewarczyk, JR winning at Lee USA, and Brad Babb picking up his second victory of the year at White Mountain.

Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH, is scheduled to hold two GSPSS races in 2015 (May 23, Aug 8), as well as Hudson International Speedway (June 14, Aug 23). Star Speedway (Epping, NH) will hold two events as well, the first on June 27, and the second date as part of the Star Classic, which will determine the 2015 champion, on September 12.

The Granite State Pro Stock Series held eleven events in 2014, with 10 different winners. Dillon Moltz secured his first series championship, driving for the Mark Brackett owned RB Performance Chevrolet. Moltz, along with many others, will be recognized at the Champions Banquet at the Executive Court Banquet Facility in Manchester, NH, on January 10.
