The sixth round of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season ended with five Chevrolet SS race cars finishing in the top 10.

Chevrolet’s Danica Patrick earned her fifth career top-10 finish at the 0.526-mile track taking the checkered flag in the seventh spot. Patrick’s finish is the best by a female at Martinsville Speedway and it ties her second-best career finish. The driver of the No. 10 TaxAct Chevrolet SS is now tied with Janet Guthrie for the most top-10 finishes earned by a female in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series.

Kevin Harvick’s streak of eight consecutive top-two finishes ended with an eighth-place overall at Martinsville in the No. 4 Budweiser/Jimmy John’s Chevrolet SS. The reigning Sprint Cup Series champion led the most laps (154 of 500), but lost track position on a late-race restart and was not able to rebound. Harvick maintains the series points lead over Joey Logano (Ford) by 24 markers heading into the first off-weekend of the season.

Jeff Gordon looked to be in a position late in the race to score a record setting ninth win in the No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet SS; but, a pit road speeding penalty on the last pit stop on lap 462 thwarted his quest for a ninth Grandfather Clock. The four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion earned a ninth-place finish.

Jamie McMurray, No. 1 Cessna Chevrolet SS, earned his second top-10 finish of 2015 by taking the checkered flag in 10th.

Denny Hamlin (Toyota) was the winner of the STP 500. Brad Keselowski (Ford) was second, Logano (Ford) finished third, Matt Kenseth (Toyota) was fourth and David Ragan (Toyota) was fifth to round out the top-five finishers.
