fsdgdtdfLEE, NH – In just a few days, the North East Street Stock Tour will make history, by competing in the tour’s inaugural event at Lee USA Speedway. Bill Callen, General Manager at the 3/8 mile oval, will wear two hats on Sunday, May 17, as he has been named Chief Scorer for the North East Street Stock Tour.

Callen began in the industry in 1963, involved in the dirt tracks of Iowa. After moving to the east coast, Callen joined the team at Lee USA Speedway in 1996, as Chief Steward. Bill’s knowledge of computer systems drew him to the tower, as he implemented the new scoring systems used at Lee to this day. In 2012, Callen became General Manager of the track, and has continued to host such events as the ACT Governor’s Cup, Modified Racing Series events, and Oktoberfest, an open-competition event in October. Bill, and his wife of 47 years, Joyce, have four children, and are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren.

Callen has not only been a staple at Lee USA Speedway, but has been a part of many different entities in the racing industry, including working with Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, the Granite State Pro Stock Series, and is an advisor for Outside the Box Promotions.

Outside the Box Promotions Executive Vice President Josh Vanada praises Callen highly, saying “Bill brings a strong technology background, as well as a great deal of experience in the motorsports industry. We are glad to have his support, as well as that of Lee USA Speedway. It is a terrific place for us to hold our inaugural event.”

Callen is looking forward to joining the upstart tour, commenting “I am excited to join the North East Street Stock Tour group. The launch of a new series is a great opportunity to work with racers from across the North East.”
