Speedway95Speedway 95 News Release 08-1-15

(Hermon, Me) August started off with some exciting racing at Speedway 95 Saturday, with the Outlaws Super Series adding to the regular racing card at Maine’s family fun track; Speedway 95 In Hermon.

In the visiting Outlaws Super Series Ricky Burgess was the car to beat, after taking the second spot in the heat race, and moving right up to the front in the feature event. Pole sitter Joey Doyon of Winterport fought to stay at the front for the first half of the race, but seemed to lose some of his momentum in the second half, falling back to third, with DJ Moody getting ahead of him and holding the second spot at the finish.

In the Dysart’s Late Model division Deane Smart of Bradley worked his way up through the field to grab the top spot and hold on to it, despite a side-by-side battle for the with Winterport’s Ryan Deane. Deane crossed the line first just once, but spent a majority of the race side-by-side with Smart – just a hair behind in second. At the checkered flag, Smart grabbed win, Deane took second, and Don Alexander of Glenburn finished the night in third.

After winning the qualifier, Bobby Seger, Jr. was looking for the win in the Casella Waste Street Division, and never looked back. Despite three cautions, Seger held off challenger Zack Audet of Skowhegan, who found his ride a little squirrely after 21 laps. Audet recovered nicely, but was unable to get back beside Seger and challenge again for the win. Seger grabbed top spot, Audet took second, and Greg Pung of Franklin crossed the line for third.

The Coca Cola Company Sport Four division had an after race inspection and we are still waiting for the results
