speedway 95TATRO AND SILVA TAKE SPEEDWAY 95 SERIES RACE WINS

Shane Tatro of Levant outduelled Steve Kimball of Holden in a 7 lap fight to the finish in the Darling’s Ford Sportsman series race Saturday night at Speedway 95. The pair had battled for the lead throughout the 35 lap event, with Kimball leading the most laps until the final shoot out came following a lap 28 caution flag. On the restart, Tatro and Kimball resumed their battle, with Tatro on the outside and Kimball on the inside. Tatro edged past Kimball in the final three laps, finishing less than a car length ahead at the checkers. Kimball finished second with Winterport’s Trey Brown finishing third. Dean Clements of Brooks came in fourth with Mike Overlock of Franklin finishing fifth. Tatro took the overall 4 race series win by 6 points over Trey Brown.

In the Street Landscaping series 50 lap feature for the Sport-Fours, Jason Trundy of Winterport led the early laps, with Hudson’s Donny Silva in close pursuit. As the pair came upon a slower car on lap 20, Trundy took to the outside and Silva took the inside route as they attempted to overlap the slower car. Contact was made between Trundy and the slower car, resulting in Trundy running off the track and hard into the turn three tire wall. Trundy was uninjured, but was out of competition for the night. Silva then went on the win the race, with Dustan Durrell of Newburgh finishing in second. Third went to Andrew Crosby of Hermon, who won the overall series title, garnering the most points over the four race series. James Goodman of Bangor and Mark Sawyer of Corinth rounded out the top five in the night’s feature.
Ryan Deane of Winterport took to the inside groove from the start in the Dysart’s Late Model 40 lap feature and passed early leader Dana Wilbur of Frankfort on lap 18, held the lead through two restarts, and went on to win his first feature of the season. Wilbur fell as far back as fourth in the running order at one point, but rallied back in the closing laps, with the help of a lap 35 caution flag, to score a second place finish. Third went to John Curtis Jr. of Hermon, with Wayne Parritt Jr. of Steuben and Dylan Street of Old Town rounding out the top five.

Bob Seger Jr. of Frankfort started on the pole for the 25 lap Casella Waste Systems Strictly Street feature and ran away from the rest of the field in the caution free race. Jordan Pearson of Glenburn finished in the second spot after running there for most of the race while the battle for third fourth and fifth was raging behind him. Alex Berry of Harrington worked his way through the field from his 8th place start to finish third, with Greg Pung of Franklin and Bradley Norris of Ellsworth finally finishing in fourth and fifth respectively after swapping positions frequently during the running of the race.
