Three consecutive PASS North titles for the Farmingdale Maine short track star

Naples ME Johnny Clark’s 2010 season ended quietly in the White Mountain Motorsports Park pit area, the rear axle housing of his Clark’s Car Crushing/Port City Race Cars Impala cocked to one side with a rear suspension failure that ended his night early in the PASS North super late model season finale. It was supposed to be Clark’s night to celebrate an unprecedented fifth Pro All Stars Series title, his team’s third consecutive championship. But Clark didn’t get to make a flashy burn out or receive congratulations from his many fans in attendance.

Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, plans to make his debut in one of the northeast’s most unique events when he heads to the 48th annual Milk Bowl at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., on Saturday and Sunday, October 2-3. Theriault, the ACT Late Model Tour Rookie of the Year leader with one points race remaining, has never competed in the Milk Bowl — though he did finish an impressive seventh his Thunder Road debut back in June of this season. He’s coming off a seventh-place finish in the Spud 150 at his home track of Spud Speedway in Caribou, Maine, last weekend — after leading most of the event before a flat right front tire ended his bid for victory less than 50 laps from the finish.

Brent Dragon of Milton, Vt., looks to become a multi-time champion of one of the northeast’s marquee racing events when the competes in the 48th annual Milk Bowl at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., on Saturday and Sunday, October 2-3. Dragon is the third member of his racing family to have won the Milk Bowl, joining uncle Bobby Dragon and father Beaver Dragon as a champion with his win in the 2006 event. Last year, Dragon finished second in the unique three-segment event for his third second place finish in a five-year span dating back to 2005.

Joey Polewarczyk Jr. of Hudson, N.H., will try and keep his momentum rolling this weekend with the 48th annual Milk Bowl at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., on Saturday and Sunday, October 2-3. Polewarczyk enters the weekend off the biggest win of his career — the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 18. He is the track’s Late Model record holder at Thunder Road, having earned the Milk Bowl pole in 2006 with a lap of 12.935 seconds around the quarter-mile track — the first of three consecutive Milk Bowl poles earned by the No. 97 Ford Fusion in the event. Polewarczyk has one career victory at Thunder Road, having won the VT Governor’s Cup in 2009, and most recently he finished eighth in the Labor Day Classic 200 at the track last month.

SEEKONK, MA- Modified Racing Series reigning champion, and current point’s leader Jon McKennedy, has filed his Super Modified entry for this Saturday’s Racing Against Breast Cancer, at Seekonk Speedway. Driving the # 79 Dunigan Super Modified, Jon will return to ISMA, after a two year absence, where he was the 2005 Rookie of the Year. McKennedy will return to the track that he first competed at in a Super Modified. “Seekonk is a great race track and I always enjoy racing there. Waterbury, VT – Following the 300 lap event at the Autodrome Ste-Eustache last Sunday, September 26, 2010, a penalty was issued to the # 3QC team of Sylvain Lacombe. The driver is responsible for the actions of his team and following an on-track incident, the team’s actions along pit road during the event and subsequently at the conclusion of the event, mandated a penalty for the # 3QC team under the following ACT Rulebook criteria.
