ANDREW MCLAUGHLIN WIRES 95 LATE MODEL FEATURE

Andrew McLaughlin came back from last week’s disappointing fourth place finish after leading for 35 laps to finishing half a lap ahead of the field in the 40 lap Dysart’s Late Model feature at Speedway 95 Saturday night. Starting on the outside pole, McLaughlin battled side by side with pole sitter Nick Jenkins of Milo for the first two laps, but took the lead for good on lap 3 and led to the checkers in the caution free race. McLaughlin stretched out his lead while Jenkins battled with John Curtis Jr. of Hermon for over 20 laps for the second spot, which Jenkins took for good on lap 28 and held to the finish. Curtis then engaged in a battle for third with Orrington’s John Kalel II for laps 30 through 38, with Kalel taking the spot for a third place finish. Brenton Parritt of Steuben then got by Curtis on the final lap to take fourth, with Curtis ending up in fifth. Dean Smart of Bradley and Brenton Parritt of Steuben won the night’s qualifiers Zach Audet of Skowhegan led the Coca Cola Sport 4 35 lap Street Landscaping series event #2 from pole to checkers, holding off Cornville’s Brad Bosworth through three cautions to take the win. Bosworth missed a shift on the original start and played catch up for the whole race, finishing in second just ahead of his brother Jayson Bosworth, also of Cornville, who finished third. 12 year old Dylan Street of Old Town ran a strong race, finishing in fourth, holding off a stiff challenge from Milford’s Garett Hayman, who came from the back of the pack following a lap 5 spin into the turn three wall to finish fifth. Sixth place in the series event went to Carmel’s Ted Ryder, with Hermon’s Andrew Crosby in seventh. Jeremy Scott of Carmel, Ed Archer Jr. of Clinton and Darren Durrell of Newburgh rounded out the top ten in that order. Audet and Bosworth were the heat race winners and started the event on the front row.
