NASCAR-Whelen-All-American-SeriesWaterford, CT (April 19, 2014) – Waterford Speedbowl returned to racing action Saturday night with an action packed six division race program. Taking victories in NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing events included Tyler Chadwick of Ledyard, who came away with a well-earned triumph in the SK Modified® division. Berlin’s Keith Rocco won his third consecutive Valenti Auto Mall Late Model feature to begin the year while Corey Barry of Plainfield nailed a victory in the SK Light Modified ranks. Second generation racer Mike Christopher Jr. of Wolcott took his first victory in the night’s INEX Legend Cars race. Al Stone of Durham was awarded the victory in the Street Stock event and Christopher Ivory of Oakdale was credited with his first-ever victory in the Mini Stock division.

Chadwick worked hard during his run to victory in the 35-lap SK Modified® race. After he assumed control on lap-12 from Agawam’s Jeff Gallup, he held back a charging Keith Rocco over the final 17 laps in an entertaining high speed duel. Nichole Morgillo led the field to the green flag with her pole starting position as Gallup lined up to her outside. The two drag raced on the opening lap side-by-side with Gallup leading by a nose at the completion of lap-1.

NASCAR-Whelen-All-American-SeriesThis Saturday night April 19 officially kicks off another season of NASCAR Whelen All American Series Racing at Rockford Speedway, with the Mountain Dew Kickstart 67th Season Opener! The first Saturday night race of 2014 features the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Miller Lite American Short Trackers and Kickstart Roadrunners along with the Sam’s Drive-In Roadrunner Challenge ‘Driver/Fan Easter Egg Toss.’ Along with the racing, fans ages 21 and over are invited to take part in a FREE Red’s Apple Ale Sampling in the Miller Lite Pavilion from 6:30 PM to 8 PM. Gates open Saturday night at 5 PM, with the Stateline Staffing Services Fast Dashes going green at 7:07 PM. THE STORY

EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. – Emily Packard of East Montpelier, Vt., opens the 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series with a 35-lap Late Model feature event at Canaan Fair Speedway in Canaan, N.H., on Saturday, May 18. The 16-year-old Late Model driver won the track’s Rookie of the Year title in 2012, finishing fourth in the overall NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model standings to ACT Late Model Tour champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. Packard has said her goal this year is to win the track championship at the track she calls home.
