(Photo by Alan Ward)Barre, VT – The Lt. Governor of the State of Vermont, Phil Scott from Middlesex, VT, has won more races than any other driver in the history of the ACT Late Model division at Thunder Road, dating back to 1992. For over twenty years he has compiled a winning record that may never be broken.

Ironically, Phil Scott has never won the Vermont Governor’s Cup. He served the State of Vermont as a Senator from Washington County for a decade, and currently is preparing to run for a third term as Lt. Governor.

Although he has not hoisted the elusive Governor’s Cup, Scott has won just about every other major race, including two Milk Bowls (billed as the “Toughest Short Track Race in America”), the Memorial Day Classic, the Merchants Bank opening day event, and twenty-five (25) other feature events. He has won three “King of the Road” season-long track Championship titles. He also won 9 major American Canadian Tour events in a span of just four years from 1997- 2000!
