Bear Ridge Speedway

Tad Kingsbury Cops a Triple Crown in the DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes
Robert Tucker Tops Sportsman Modifieds

It was another action packed night of racing at Bear Ridge Speedway on Interstate Batteries/JTB Towing and Recovery Night that saw all repeat winners along with a Triple Crown winner in the Sportsman Coupes.

The Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds found the going rough early in the 40 Lap Feature event with four cautions in the first eight laps before settling down to some exiting racing. Wayne Stearns led early with Todd Buckwold blasting to the top spot after just a few laps. Points leader Robert Tucker was the man on the move though as after starting tenth he used the high side to move towards the front and challenge for the lead, taking the top spot on lap ten. From there it was a walk in the park for Tucker as he led the rest of the way, only being briefly challenged for the lead on a couple of restarts. The late race battle for second was intense though as Terry Williams and Chris Donnelly, making a return to the track for the first time this season, put on an epic show for the runner-up spot. Donnelly, who had to come from the rear after being involved in the second caution of the evening eventually claimed the spot. At the finish it was Robert Tucker winning by a straightaway with Chris Donnelly second. Terry Williams was third after coming form the rear and riding the wall on two wheels early in the race. Jordan Fornwalt and Walter Hammond completed the top five.

The Wells Rivers River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes had the first repeat winner of the season in the division as Tad Kingsbury took the lead on the opening lap and held off Jason Horniak early in the race and then later in the race the repeated outside charges of Earl Maxham with Maxham actually leading a single lap later in the race before Kingsbury claimed the win. At the Checkers it was Tad Kingsbury with his second win of the year. Kingsbury was also a Triple Crown Winner as he won his qualifier and the Semi-Feature. Earl Maxham was second with Jason Horniak third, Melvin Pierson fourth and Matt Ellsworth fifth.

It was madness night for the C.A. Miller Limited Late Models and they collected enough money to run three fifteen lap Segments. Ryan Christian won segment one and two with George Osgood winning segment three. Overall the win went to Ryan Christian, his eighth of the year. George Osgood finished second overall with Hunter Nutter third, Kelly Miller Sr. fourth and John Neddo fifth.

Rookie Zach Audet zoomed into the lead at the start of the Weglarz Property Services Four Cylinder Feature and held the lead until Jason Porter took the top spot with twelve laps complete. Porter went on to take the victory in front of a hotly contested battle for second that found Danny Doyle grab the spot. Perennial front runner Buddy Welch was third with Jesse Durkee fourth and Zach Audet fifth.

The WYKR Sprint Cars of New England were on hand and it was the Will Hull Show as he used the topside to blast to the front before a lap was complete. Hull dominated to take the win, his third in a row at Bear Ridge Speedway. Scott Holcomb ran a strong second in his first appearance of the year with Dan Douville claiming third at the checkers. Matt Hoyt and Dennis McLeod completed the top five.
