Devil’s Bowl Speedway Rained Out

HFCU Member Night & Topless Races moved to June 23

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has cancelled its stock car racing event for Sunday, June 16, due to showers.  Intermittent rains moving over southern Vermont clipped the speedway property beginning at 11:00 a.m. and remained in an on-and-off pattern through the afternoon.  While the rain was expected to pass before race time, the grounds would not have dried in time for a smooth racing surface.

The entire event has been rescheduled to Sunday, June 23, at 7:00 p.m.  It will be the annual Heritage Family Credit Union “Member Night” with free grandstand general admission for all HFCU members who provide valid proof of membership.  The event will also be “Topless Night” with the Pepsi Sportsman Modified and O’Reilly Auto Parts Limited Sportsman divisions racing roofless and the Friend Construction 500cc Mini Sprint division racing wingless.  The Super Stock and Mini Stock divisions will also be in action.  Regular general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and free for kids age 12 and under.

An open practice session has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 19, weather permitting.  The pit area will open at 5:00 p.m., with practice from 6:00-9:00 p.m.  Pit passes are $20; the grandstands will be open at no charge.  No track or series license is required to participate, and any safe racecar is welcome regardless of rules or division.

With the third rainout in five weeks, the season schedule has been changed again, and the Charlie LaDuc Memorial 54-lap special has been rescheduled for to June 30.  The race will coincide with the Durkee Insurance Agency “Vintage Racing Celebration” presented by FairHavenMotors.com, which includes the Champlain Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series.
