The three-time SK Modified champion Todd Owen will be seeking his first NAPA Spring Sizzler Crown. The 48-year-old has been behind the wheel of a race car for over three decades, starting his career at the now-defunct Riverside Park Speedway in Agawam, Massachusetts.

In the late 1990s, Owen made Stafford Speedway his home track. The Somers, Connecticut native raced through many divisions, including Late Models and Pro Stocks, where he claimed his first Stafford win in 1999. Over the next two seasons, he won seven Pro Stock events before moving to the premier SK Modified division in 2002.

Owen claimed his first SK Modified 40-lap feature victory in 2005. Over the next 19 years, he won some of the division’s biggest races, including the NAPA SK 5K, NAPA Victory Lap 200, and TC 13 Shootout. Since his first full season in 2003, Owen has finished in the top 10 in SK Modified standings every year. However, it took until 2021 to notch his first Stafford SK title, beginning a historic run that saw him win championships in 2022 and 2023, becoming the first to win three consecutive SK Modified titles.

Owen has also found recent success outside Stafford, winning three straight track titles at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. The NAPA Spring Sizzler weekend will be busy for him as he begins his quest for a fourth consecutive Championship and attempts to qualify for the 52nd NAPA Spring Sizzler, driving his Cooker Construction/McKennedy Construction #81.

The 52nd NAPA Spring Sizzler takes place on Sunday, April 28th, while the NAPA Auto Parts Duel qualifying races open the weekend on Saturday, April 27th. See the full schedule and order your tickets at StaffordSpeedway.com.
