LAKEVILLE, Conn.—Lime Rock Park, the historic motorsports and entertainment destination nestled among the hills of beautiful Northwest Connecticut, will host a Season Kickoff Celebration on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The free community event is sponsored by theTri-State Chamber of Commerce, the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of CommerceConnecticut Public Television (CPTV) Kids, and Wheels of Time in Pine Plains, N.Y.

“This celebration is all about supporting local charities, nonprofits and businesses, all while experiencing a fun-filled day for the entire family,” said Rebecca Lee, Lime Rock Park’s Sales and Marketing Manager. “You can relax on the hillside while watching the club cars on track, admiring the sports and classic cars on display, and enjoying the community marketplace with local food trucks, sundae making bar, local craft brews, goods from local vendors and artists, kids activities and more.”


The event will support two local charities: The Corner Food Pantry of Lakeville, Conn., and The Little Guild Animal Shelter of West Cornwall, Conn. Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for families or pets in need, make a financial donation or participate in a fundraising prize raffle.


The community marketplace will include displays from The Artisan Shop, Audubon Sharon, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Brooker Memorial, Great Cape Baking Company, Harney & Sons Fine Teas, LaBonne’s Market, Norbrook Farm Brewery, Robin Hood Radio, Sharon Playhouse, Survive The Drive, WTNH News 8 and more. Kids activities will include Artis Race Labs’ full-motion racing simulator, a bounce house, a face painter and lawn games.
Attendees will also be able to learn about the full schedule of events at Lime Rock Park, purchase tickets for upcoming races as well as fan gear, and receive exclusive deals and giveaways. There will also be a classic car display by Wheels of Time.


In 2019, Lime Rock will host four major events: the Trans Am Memorial Day Classic and Sunday Royals Car Show presented by Hagerty on May 24-27, the SCCA New England Regionals on June 14-5, the IMSA Northeast Grand Prix on July 19-20, and Historic Festival 37 and Sunday in the Park Concours held over Labor Day weekend on Aug. 29 – Sept. 2. Additionally, the Park will hosts various racing and driving schools, car club events, and community and charity events.
