The feature winners of the 59th consecutive season week four sponsored by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust were Mike Ryan in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; Logan Martin in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes; Bryan King in the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modifieds Limiteds; the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets were OFF, Ryan Christian in the High Country Dispensary Late Models; Tyler Fellows in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks; Doug Boucher in the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners, and Matt Hoyt in the Sprint Cars of New England.
Mike Ryan is back in victory lane in a big way grabbing the win in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds. Only one caution would slow the pace when the 6 time track champion Jason Gray finds himself pit side, done for the night. Grays run for his seventh consecutive track championship isn’t starting out as well as he had hoped. Ryan was able to get the jump on the restart and hold on until the checkers waved beating Richie Simmons and Jeremy Huntoon, both with their best finishes of the season. Thomas Placey and Owen Brown rounded out the top five.
There was nothing but smiles in victory lane for the Wells River Chevrolet-part of the Auto Saver Group DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes as Logan Martin scores his first win of his career in the division. Only able to advance one spot from last week, that is just what he did, beating Michael Danforth who held on for second over Todd Buckwold who crossed the line in third. Will Hull driving for Ricky Sanville brings the 93 home in fourth with the wily veteran Bob Shepard completing the top five.
Bryan King gets his second win of the year in the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modified Limiteds beating out Kelly Miller Sr and son Shawn King for the win. A caution on the initial green would send Miller from the front row to the rear, but he didn’t let that deter him as he quickly made his way back to the front to set a challenge on King. King would be uncatchable and Miller would have to settle for second. Keegan Tabor and Jordan Robinson rounded out the top five.
Ryan Christian was barely able to redeem his win from May 16 which was shortened due to The High-Country Dispensaries Late Models drivers unable to get a lap in with out a caution. This week started in the same vein, but finally after a couple of cautions the field was able to figure it out and have a complete race. Christian beat out Tim Higgins for the win with Kelly Miller Sr taking home third. Kevin Smith and Jason potter completed the top five.
Four weeks in four different winners in the LaValley Building Supply, with Tyler Fellows, last year’s track champion added his name to the growing list. Fellows held off the hard fought challenges of Tim Tucker who was just waiting for a slip to take the point. This week he would have to settle for the second week in a row in the bridesmaid position. Keith Mansur joined the two in victory lane coming home third. Mik McClay and Mike Mann rounded out the top five.
In the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners Doug Boucher is the first in the division to make it to the top of the heap more than once scoring his second win of the season book ending the month of May. Ryan Sayers hoping to catch Boucher weekly on the track and in the points battles comes home in second with Kevin LaForest joining the pair in victory lane, with his second third place finish of the year. Kyle Morris and Zach completed the top five.
The Sprint Cars of New England made their first appearance of the season with a strong field of cars. Scott Holcomb by virtue of the draw would bring the field to the green and lead the first five laps before mechanical problems took him off the pace. Tunk Berry was ready to take the point and for the next twenty one laps looked unbeatable, holding off Matt Hoyt who was unable to capitalize on lap traffic to get by Berry. Berry, well out in front of the field, suddenly found himself spun facing the field head on. This would give Hoyt the point and he was able to hold on to it for the remainder of the event. Kayden Berry and Floyd Billington crossed second and third. With son Travis Billington and Caiden Herbert rounding out the top five. The Sprint Cars of New England will be back in action at the Ridge on June 27th.
