Track Promoter C.V. “Butch” Elms saw a window of opportunity to go for it as the sun came out late in the day, before the next wave of weather moved back into the area. It was features only for the visiting R.E. Hinkley Granite State Mini Sprints, Sportsman Mods Limited, Late Models, and Dirt Stocks which were completed along with two segments of the Ridge Runner Madness and the heat races for the Mods and Coupes before mother nature threw the checkers, making the night complete in the record books. The Sportsman Modifieds, Sportsman Coupes and segment three for the Ridge Runner Madness will be completed June 13th before the regular card begins.
The feature winners of the 59th consecutive season week five sponsored by Valley Floors were: race postponed due to rain in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds; race postponed due to rain in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes; Shawn King in the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modifieds Limiteds; the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets were OFF, Kelly Miller in the High Country Dispensary Late Models; Keith Mansur in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks; in the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners Madness Segment one Riley Chaffee, Madness Segment two Zach Audet. The skies opened with hard rain and lightning before the Wells River Chevrolet-part of the Auto Saver Group DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes were able to take the green for their 35 lap main event. The race will be run on June 13th before the regular scheduled card begins.
Like father like son in the Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Sportsman Modified Limiteds, as Shawn King gets his second win of the season beating out his dad Bryan King, tightening the points battle between the two. Kelly Miller Sr doing double duty joined the Kings in victory lane crossing the line in third. Jordan Robinson and rookie Keegan Tabor rounded out the top five.
The Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets were off return to action June 13th.
The High-Country Dispensaries Late Models drivers continue to struggle to find a way to get around the quarter mile oval without a caution. Once again in the opening laps mayhem struck putting Ryan Christian pit side to watch the remainder of the race. When the field finally resumed and able to get some green flag laps in the rain moved into the area shortening the event at lap nine just over the halfway point declaring it a complete event. Kelly Miller Sr is credited with the win with Tim Higgins coming home in second and Kevin Smith third.
A green, white checkers set the stage for the first repeat winner in the LaValley Building Supply and leave the leader of the event until the caution on the last lap wondering what happened. Mike Mann was finally showing the fans that he does have what it takes to be in the record books of winners at the Ridge leading the event until a caution before the final lap was completed would set the stage for a green, white checkers finish. Keith Mansur was ready to take advantage of the restart and with Tyler Fellows got by Mann where the three would cross the finish line in that order giving Mansur his second win of the season when the checkers waved. Tim Tucker and John Fields rounded out the top five.
It was MADNESS night for the Woodsville Power Equipment Bobcat Ridge Runners with the field going for over six thousand dollars in lap and purse money. The first feature/segment was brought to the green by Ryan Sayers for bringing in the most laps. Ryan Chaffee would make it to the front to win the first segment. Segment two inverted from the first feature finish for those still on the track would be brought to the green by Anne Tetreault, when the checkers waved on the segment it was Zach Audet for the win. The third segment was postponed due to weather and will be completed on June 13th. Going into the segment the top five are Riley Chaffee 5 points, Kevin LaForest, Katie Burroughs and Ryan Sayers tied with 7 points and Kyle Morris with 9.
The R.E. Hinkley Granite State Mini Sprints made their third appearance of the season. In the 500cc Jake Wolf beats out Bently Robbins for the win with Adam Flewelling coming home in third. Jackson Davis and Wyatt Robie rounded out the top five. In the 600cc it was Cody Willette for the win with Teagan Daignault getting his mojo back crossing the line in second. Josh Wright joined the pair taking home third. Todd Davis and Domenico Daigle completed the top five. The R.E. Hinkley Granite State Mini Sprints will return to the Ridge on August 1st.
