COLLINS ‘WILL’S HIS WAY TO OPENING DAY WIN AT WISCASSET

    Wiscasset Speedway’s Late Model Sportsman class has established itself over the past 5 years as one of the most competitive divisions in the state, It’s a group that boasts as many as 8 previous track champions, and a handful of others who are capable of winning on a given night. Among them is 2-time champion Will Collins of Waldoboro. The second generation racer turned in a statement win Saturday afternoon, highlighting Wiscasset’s Group 2 opening day. Other winners on the program included Zach Audet in the Kennebec Equipment Rental Outlaw Minis; Kyle Hewins in the Norms Used Cars Strictly Streets; and Adam Chadbourne in the K&A Property Services Modifieds.

FARRINGTON NOTCHES OPENING DAY WIN AT WISCASSET
A chilly windy day wasn’t going to keep a large group of eager race fans from what they had been waiting months for. Opening day had arrived. Group 1 divisions took to the track Saturday afternoon at Wiscasset Speedway with a little over 1200 racing enthusiast huddled in for a day of fun. The Thunder 4 Mini division had the honor of spotlight status for the day. Also in action were the ServPro of Biddeford Saco Prostocks, Maxwell’s MArket Super Streets, and Cahill Tire 4-cylinder Pros.

WISCASSET SPEEDWAY READY TO LAUNCH 2018 SEASON

Despite winter’s efforts to hold it’s grip on the northeast region, spring is in fact upon us. Wiscasset Speedway is once again ready to embark on a busy and diverse schedule beginning with Group 1 Opening Day this Saturday, April 21 at 2:00 pm. The engines will roar to life, the fans will don their favorite racing attire, and the familiar sounds, smells, and energy will fill the air. A new racing season will take the green flag. Fans & drivers alike have come to expect facility upgrades and a wide array of motorsports entertainment from owner’s Richard & Vanessa Jordan. Wiscasset Speedway’s 2018 season will be no different. A lighting system & network upgrade along with further grandstand side renovations will continue the track’s multi-year modernization project. On the racing side of things, the track’s 8 weekly divisions will once again be split into two groups that will alternate week to week. Group 1 will be highlighted by the ServPro of Biddeford-Saco Prostocks, along with the Maxwell’s Market Super Streets, the Cahill Tire 4-cylinder Pros, and the Thunder 4 Minis. Group 2 will feature the Wood Pellet Warehouse Late Model Sportsman, the K&A Property Services Modifieds, the Kennebec Equipment Outlaw Minis, and the Norms Used Cars Strictly Streets.
