WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Sometimes things fall into place perfectly, and that’s just what happened for the Scarboroughs at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Sunday, July 15. Twin brothers Joey and Jake Scarborough of Brandon, Vt., wanted to perform well in the Vince Quenneville Sr. Memorial event to bring full circle more than 50 years of racing lineage between the Scarborough and Quenneville families, and they did so in fine style by finishing first and second, respectively.

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – The moon might not have been full on Sunday, July 8 over Devil’s Bowl Speedway, but the drivers were in rare form. Kevin Chaffee of Bradford, Vt., stood the tallest at the end of the wild, crash-filled “Hometown Heroes” event with his first-ever Devil’s Bowl win in hand, while other drivers to make it out of the carnage and win races included Joey Roberts, Chris Murray, Jason Porter, Brandon Emerson, and Diane Porter.

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Matt Tanner and Adam Pierson shared top billing in a wild Independence Day event at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Tuesday, July 3. Racing before a monster grandstand crowd, Tanner earned his first Devil’s Bowl win by beating the visiting Sprint Cars of New England (SCoNE) tour, and Pierson took his first-ever NASCAR Whelen All-American Series win in the Central Vermont Motorcycles Sportsman Modified division.

Change made in anticipation of forecasted heat wave

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has made a change to the starting time of its “Fireworks Spectacular” on Tuesday, July 3. In anticipation of the expected heat wave, the event has been pushed back one hour to help alleviate some of the heat concerns.

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – The fuse has officially been lit for the annual “Firecracker Spectacular” event at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. Rutland County’s biggest and loudest Independence Day celebration is shaping up to be the best yet, with a massive fireworks show and as many as 100 racecars expected for the Tuesday, July 3 special presented by Bruno’s Towing & Recovery.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway Suffers First Rainout of 2018
Independence Day Firecracker coming up on Tuesday, July 3

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has suffered its first rainout of the 2018 stock car racing season on Sunday, June 24. Rain on Sunday morning and an unfavorable evening forecast have forced speedway officials to cancel the event.

The event was scheduled to be “Throwback Night” featuring the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series and the new Champlain Valley Vintage Dirt Modifieds. Track and series officials will attempt to find a suitable makeup date for the vintage tours, which would be announced in the future.
