Devil’s Bowl Speedway Announces New Admission Pricing and Policies

Season passes available; weekly $12 adult ticket pricing returns

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has announced fan-friendly pricing and policies for the 2021 dirt track season. As Vermonters demonstrate an ability to effectively control and mitigate the pandemic, management at the West Haven track remains optimistic that state health and safety regulations will soon look closer to normal.

State-mandated restrictions last year severely limited group sizes, forcing Devil’s Bowl Speedway to make changes to remain financially stable. Those changes included eliminating free admission for children, eliminating discount pricing for seniors and teens, and raising ticket prices to $15 for all ages.

Limited Sportsman Division is Key Ingredient in Devil’s Bowl Speedway Recipe

Support class has become vital training ground for new racers

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – The future of dirt track racing is bright at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. As a leader in Vermont’s current short track racing renaissance, car counts are at their highest point in 15 years or more, and fan support has been exceptional. A key ingredient to the recipe has been the rise of the Limited Sportsman division at Devil’s Bowl.

As the lead support class at weekly Saturday-night events, the Limited division was created in 2018 to coincide with the opening of the new half-mile dirt surface. The racing machines are the same open-wheel cars, engines, and tires as the headline Sportsman Modifieds, but with restrictions on drivers based on experience. Weekly races pay $250 to win, $125 for a fifth-place finish, and $75 to finish last; the Limited winner’s purse is equivalent to a seventh-place finish in the Sportsman class.

Young sweeps Semi-Pro classes on home turf in Vermont

WEST GLOVER, Vermont (Feb. 28, 2021) — Veteran snowmobile racers Matt Cameron and Heath Bell split the Pro finals in Vermont this weekend, as Rock Maple Racing (RMR) completed Round 3 of its 2021 Cross Country snowmobile racing schedule on Saturday at Young View Farms.

Cameron, of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, powered his Arctic Cat to victory in Pro Open over Bell and Oswego, New York’s Kenny Murphy. Despite limited visibility from mixed precipitation that fell all day long, Cameron held a 45-second advantage over Bell as he crossed the stripe after five laps.

Bell, of New Gloucester, Maine, capped a solid day on his Ski-doo by outgunning Cameron in Pro Stock. In a grueling, 12-lap battle, Bell carried an impressive 18-second margin of victory to the line, while Murphy capped a strong outing with another podium finish.

In Semi-Pro action, local favorite Brock Young made it a clean sweep in his own backyard. The skilled athlete and proud West Glover native held off Ski-doo riders Todd Smith (Derry, N.H.) and Aaron Shelton (Walton, NY) for top honors in Semi-Pro Improved. In the Stock class, Young outran Shelton and Pownal, Maine’s Bailey Slocum for top honors.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway Schedule Stacked with Special Events in 2021

Five major races highlight 24-event season

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has blown out all the stops for its 2021 season schedule. The historic Vermont dirt track will open its 55th season on Saturday, May 1 and will race 24 straight weeks through October 2. Several special events will help to further cement Devil’s Bowl Speedway’s status as the Northeast’s leading facility for crate-engine Sportsman Modifieds, and five key dates promise to be major events in the region.

A previously announced switch to weekly Saturday-night events (with a Sunday rain date) for 2021 has been received with overwhelmingly positive reaction, and Devil’s Bowl promoter Mike Bruno feels that the track can continue to safely build off the momentum of a successful 2020 season – even during the height of the pandemic.

Bear Ridge 2020 Annual Awards Banquet Officially Canceled.

Bear Ridge 2020 Annual Awards Banquet Officially Canceled.

Bear Ridge Speedway

It is with heavy heart that Butch and April May announce the cancelation of the 2020 Bear Ridge Speedway annual awards banquet. The Banquet originally schedule for November 6, 2020 was postponed due to the pandemic to March 5, 2021. While the country is slowing progressing in a positive direction, we still have a long way to go. With facilities still shut down for larger venues indoors we had no choice but to cancel. This will be the first time in the history of the Ridge’s 53 years that the annual awards banquet was not able to take place. Ticket purchase refunds will be sent out the week of February 8th to all those who had purchased tickets, top ten points funds are also enclosed, for those eligible.

The annual awards banquet is a key part of the Ridge’s program as we feel it is extremely important to take time to recognize the accomplishments of all our competitors. We feel that it is still important to get the trophies and any other contingencies originally planned for distribution at the banquet to our drivers. We are currently looking at how that will happen, with our thought focused on opening day of 2021 May 8th, so that we can get pictures of our competitors on the track with their spoils. As we get a better handle on how and what we will be doing, we will let everyone know.
