Ricky Sanville took his third win of the season in the Peanut’s Auto Sportsman Modifieds. Matt Pike took his second consecutive win in the Homestead Creations Sportsman Late Models and Erin Aiken took win number four on the season in the Rand’s Hardware Mini Stocks.

The Peanut’s Auto Sportsman Modified extra distance Main event Lenny Pillsbury take the lead from the outside pole position when the race commenced with Jeff Huntington quickly moving to second after starting fifth. Pillsbury held the lead until a lap nine restart when Jeff Huntington jumped to the top spot with Ricky Sanville following to second. With eighteen laps in the books the yellow flew for Pillsbury and Trevor Rocke, with both going to the rear. Once again the lead changed hands on the restart as Ricky Sanville got the jump and claimed the top spot, dropping Huntington to second with Todd Buckwold moving up to third. The running order remained the same until coming out of turn four to the checkers when Huntington and Buckwold tangled. At the finish it was Ricky Sanville taking the double points win, Ryan Christian was once again in the right place at the right time to take second with Trevor Rocke third in his first appearance of the season. Wayland Childs and Lenny Pillsbury completed the top five.

Double Points night for the Homestead Creations Late Models proved to be a wild affair with six cautions. Russ Coutu took the lead from the pole position at the drop of the green and was pulling away from the field when the first caution flew with six laps complete, just a lap later the caution flew for Coutu and Scott Heath who somehow hooked bumpers while battling for the top spot on the restart. This handed the lead to third running Toby Stark, who after leading three laps had a right rear wheel break coming off turn two, spinning in front of the field causing another yellow. This handed the lead to Ryan Christian with Scott Heath back up to second. Christian endured two more yellows but then proved the lead was not the place to be tonight as he pitted out of the lead with cooling issues under the yellow. When the green reappeared for the final time Russ Coutu once again took the lead but it only lasted two laps before defending Champion Matt Pike blasted to the front, leading the rest of the way. At the checkers it was Matt Pike with the popular win, Russ Coutu second and Scott Heath third. Tom Coates and Ryan Christian rounded out the top five.

The Rand’s Hardware Mini Stock Main Event found Tim St. John motor to the front before a lap was complete. He held the lead until points leader Erin Aiken, who started sixth on the field, claimed the top spot near the halfway point of the race after engaging in an entertaining battle for the lead with St. John. A few laps later while Aiken was jockeying for the lead with Mike McClay they encountered heavy lapped traffic that didn’t obey the passing flag. The end result was a caution flag with McClay having to pit because of contact with a lapped car. Aiken remained in command on the restart and ran to the victory, her fourth of the season. Jacob Brown was second with Tim St. John third, Jonathan Baker fourth and Sean Lantas fifth.

This Friday night, July 27th joining the regular divisions of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series will be the Granite State Mini Sprints.

Don’t forget this Friday is also the ever popular Kid’s Bike Giveaway, so bring the children and enjoy an action packed evening of Racing.

The Legion Speedway is located on Route 25 at the Wentworth/Rumney NH Town line with racing every Friday Night at 7:00 PM.
