Additional Disqualification Announced Following Street Stock Teardown<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barre, VT \u2013 Thunder Road officials have announced that Berlin\u2019s Scott Weston has been disqualified from the Street Stock Special held Sunday, August 5.<\/p>\n

The decision comes following a lengthy teardown in post-race Street Stock technical inspection. Those involved in the teardown included the top finishers in the 50-lap Twin State Street Stock Series event plus several other drivers randomly selected by tech officials.
\n<\/p>\n

Weston crossed the finish line in 15th place, but was subsequently found to have illegal pistons. His disqualification means the loss of all points and purse money from the event. This includes points earned for both the Twin State Series and for the track\u2019s weekly Allen Lumber Street Stock standings.<\/p>\n

The disqualification is the second one to result from the teardown. Essex Jct.\u2019s Matthew Smith, who entered the event as the division point leader, was disqualified on Sunday night due to an engine height violation. Smith also has suffered the loss of all points and purse from the event.<\/p>\n
