So it’s kind of a no-brainer to go run it, see how you stack up, and get some extra cash.”

O’Sullivan has been one of the drivers to beat in multiple divisions at The New London-Waterford Speedbowl the past two seasons. In 2017, he finished second in both the Wednesday Pro Legends and Saturday Masters Legends divisions with three combined wins. O’Sullivan also finished third in SK Lite Modified points that year.

For 2018, he concentrated his Legend Car efforts on the Wednesday Legends series, taking second in the final standings again with five wins. In the SK Lite Mods, he ended up seventh in points despite only starting 10 of the 13 events. In addition, O’Sullivan finished second in a NELCAR Legends event at Star Speedway in September.

The 2019 season will see O’Sullivan branch out beyond his home track. He stated that he is not racing weekly at any tracks; instead, he and his team will travel around the region to various speedways with a focus on having fun and trying to win races. O’Sullivan already started his 2019 campaign by heading to Inverness, FL’s Citrus County Speedway for the five-race Pro Legends series of the 22nd Annual Winter Nationals as part of Speedweeks.

Later this year, he will take on N. Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park and Barre, VT’s Thunder Road Speedbowl for the first time as part of the Bullring Bash. O’Sullivan’s #51 will carry sponsorship from SERVPRO of Windham County (CT), Bozrah Collison, and Critical Signs at the three events.

“It’s going to be different,” O’Sullivan said. “I’ve never even been to either track to watch a race, and I haven’t seen any video on either track. So practice is going to be very key. We’re going to have to learn the track very fast and see how quickly we can learn it, adapt to it, and what we can do to make it work.”

Luckily, O’Sullivan will have additional feedback to work with. For his Bullring Bash MSD Legends campaign, O’Sullivan is part a two-car effort with his friend Jordan Churchill, who ran his back-up car six times in 2018. Jordan’s father Wally will be the crew chief for both cars.

“It’s going to be huge,” O’Sullivan remarked. “Jordan and I started the same year in Legend Cars, and I had never raced anything before a Legend Car, so it was huge to get into it with somebody you know. Our friendship has just grown from there, and his dad is very, very good with setups. With our setup at Waterford last year, we won nearly half the races we entered. His dad is very smart, and Jordan is a good driver, so we have two cars to try things, learn, and see what we can do.”

“I think this series is huge,” he concluded. “I know there’s a lot of people talking about it, and there’s a lot of people thinking of going. The payout alone is going to attract people. Then once you talk about it being a little series, people are going to want to go for a couple extra races and not just one big-money race.”

Attleboro, Massachusetts (February 27, 2019) — One of the Northeast’s top young Legend Car drivers will expand beyond his Connecticut roots in 2019 with the Bullring Bash Quarter Mile Challenge.
