{"id":25073,"date":"2019-05-12T10:55:28","date_gmt":"2019-05-12T14:55:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/16\/?p=25073"},"modified":"2019-05-12T10:55:31","modified_gmt":"2019-05-12T14:55:31","slug":"dj-shaw-triumphant-in-pass-north-super-late-model-action-at-star-speedway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/16\/2019\/05\/dj-shaw-triumphant-in-pass-north-super-late-model-action-at-star-speedway\/","title":{"rendered":"DJ Shaw triumphant in PASS North Super Late Model action at Star Speedway"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DJ Shaw triumphant in PASS North Super Late Model action at Star Speedway<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/16\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/PASS.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20316\" width=\"251\" height=\"105\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/16\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/PASS.jpg 500w, https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/16\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/PASS-300x125.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 251px) 100vw, 251px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Epping, NH \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Reigning Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model Champion DJ Shaw of Center Conway, New Hampshire drove to his second win of the season Saturday night in a wild Little Webb\u2019s Tire &amp; Fuel 150 at Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Longtime Star Speedway competitor Joe Squeglia of Derry, New Hampshire, who led a healthy chunk of the 150-lap race, rebounded from a couple of mid-race skirmishes to earn runner-up honors.&nbsp; Nick Sweet of Barre, Vermont posted an impressive third-place finish after lining up for the race in 20<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Six-time PASS North Super Late Model champion Johnny Clark made a late charge into fourth spot after setting the race pace for several laps before misfortune struck.&nbsp; Reid Lanpher of Manchester, Maine started dead last in the 23-car field, got caught up in the wreck that took out Pole and Griffith, made what seemed like a dozen pit stops and then drove back into the top five as the checkered flag waved.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Race winner Shaw, who skipped practice to attend a wedding in Maine, got to the Speedway just minutes before qualifying got underway.&nbsp; Starting the 150-lap main event from 11<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;position, he avoided the early carnage that sidelined early race leader Joey Pole, Jr. and reigning PASS Super Late Model champion Derek Griffith, both from Hudson, New Hampshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shaw took the lead away from Derek Ramstrom, but the battle went on for several laps of side-by-side action before Ramstrom spun from the inside groove, and out of contention for the victory.&nbsp; The Worcester, Masachusetts racer eventually crossed the finish line in seventh position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turner, Maine\u2019s Ben Rowe led the early stages of the race and deserved a better fate than his eventual 14<sup>th<\/sup>-place finish, and the nine-time PASS SLM champ wasn\u2019t the only racer bounced around in an uncharacteristically-rough main event.&nbsp; Garrett Hall of Scarborough, Maine, second in the championship standings entering the race, also deserved better than the sixth-place finish he was credited with after being harpooned by a part-time competitor late in the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shaw and the Precision JLM Racing team extended their lead atop the PASS North Super Late Model championship standings with the victory.&nbsp; The next Pro All Stars Series North Super Late Model race is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, May 19 at Speedway 51 in Groveton, New Hampshire.&nbsp; Post time is 1:00 p.m.&nbsp; For more information please visit&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/proallstarsseries.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proallstarsseries.com<\/a>&nbsp;or call (207) 539-8865.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unofficial results from the Little Webb\u2019s Tire &amp; Fuel 150 Pro All Stars Series Super Late Model race at Star Speedway; Epping, NH; Saturday, May 11, 2019 showing finishing position, car number, driver\u2019s name, driver\u2019s hometown:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 60 DJ Shaw, Center Conway, NH; 2 03 Joe Squeglia, Jr., Derry, NH; 3 40 Nick Sweet, Barre, VT; 4 54 Johnny Clark, Farmingdale, ME; 5 59 Reid Lanpher, Manchester, ME; 6 94 Garrett Hall, Scarborough, ME; 7 35 Derek Ramstrom, Worcester.
