The driver of the No. 85 Stuart\u2019s Automotive Chevrolet took his first checkered flag since 2011 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, marking his third trip to victory lane in Loudon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGo as fast as we could,\u201d replied Silk when asked what his strategy was. \u201cWe really didn\u2019t change the car much at the stop, and it really drove good after that. We were able to get from fifth to the lead on one of the restarts with about 15 to go, and it just worked in our favor. I\u2019m just pumped for my guys and our whole team. We\u2019ve been having a great year so far, and we\u2019re just going to keep building on that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today\u2019s event was an action-packed race that simply ran out of time and ended in an extended caution. Doug Coby, Chase Dowling, Jon McKennedy and Matt Swanson rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe track was pretty slick,\u201d said Silk. \u201cThere was a lot of sliding around, and I think that\u2019s why you saw some guys towards the back have some problems and a lot of yellows, but that\u2019s the way it is here in July and I can\u2019t wait to come back in September.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The thrilling action of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returns to NHMS as part of the Full Throttle Fall Weekend, September 20-21 for the Musket 250 presented by Whelen, which is the longest modified race of the tour.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ron Silk took the checkered flag in Saturday&#8217;s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race after a caution-filled event.
