Waterbury, VT<\/em> \u2014 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) officials have announced the series will head to Barre, VT\u2019s Thunder Road on Sunday, July 26 for the 22nd<\/sup> Community Bank N.A. 150. The event replaces the Bay State Classic at Massachusetts\u2019 Seekonk Speedway on the late-July ACT Late Model Tour schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier Monday, Seekonk officials announced the postponement of the Bay State Classic that was scheduled for Wednesday, July 29. With the track still working through the reopening process, and significant restrictions still in place for attendance and out-of-state visitors, it was determined the event could not happen at this time in a way that would be successful for the teams, fans, and sanctioning bodies. Officials are hoping to hold the event later in 2020 or in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Instead, the ACT Late Model Tour is traveling to Thunder Road for the Community Bank N.A. 150. The make-up date for the event, which was originally scheduled for early May, had not been set when ACT set the provisional 2020 schedule several weeks ago. However, the postponement of the Seekonk event opened the door for the Tour to make its first visit of the year to the Barre high banks in late July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe knew when we announced the tentative 2020 schedule in mid-June that there could be further changes,\u201d ACT managing partner Cris Michaud said. \u201cThe combination of the ever-evolving health and safety guidelines related to the COVID-19 outbreak, along with the fickleness of Mother Nature in the Northeast, certainly is keeping everyone on their toes. We think we\u2019ve come up with a good solution for this latest curveball, and we\u2019re looking forward to getting back on the track.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michaud also noted that ACT and Groveton, NH\u2019s Riverside Speedway are still in discussions regarding a make-up date for the Gardiner & June Leavitt Memorial 150 that was postponed this past weekend. An announcement is expected within the next day or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American-Canadian Tour is back in action at Barre, VT\u2019s Thunder Road on Sunday, July 26 at 1:30pm with the Community Bank N.A. 150. The ACT Late Model Tour will be joined by the track\u2019s Lenny\u2019s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors. Limited fan attendance is permitted in accordance with state health and safety guidelines.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Admission is $25 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12, and free for kids ages five and under with advance ticket sales only. Tickets will be available at www.happsnow.com\/event\/Thunder-Road-Speedbowl<\/a> approximately one week before the event. Northeast Sports Network will also offer a $25 live pay-per-view broadcast at www.NSNsports.net\/sponsors\/racing<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
