With three events and six actual Pro finals now in the books, it’s time to review how the 2012 ECS Rookie of the Year (ROTY) candidates are doing on-track.
Three athletes are battling for top honors as they tackle the challenge of Pro level competition; Chris Ackerman, Michael George and Jacob Muller. All three were stars during their time in Pro Lite (I know, we called it Semi-Pro back then – just what is a “Semi-Pro” anyway?) and were clearly ready to make the move in 2012.

BOONVILLE, N.Y. (Jan. 30, 2012) – Former regional snowmobile racing champion Danny Poirier continued his winning ways over the weekend, sweeping the Pro finals as East Coast Snocross (ECS)completed Round 3 on the nine-race 2012 schedule at the Oneida County Fairgrounds.
Poirier (Bailey Racing/Polaris), of St. Theodore, Quebec, had to work his way up from fourth at the start of Saturday’s Pro Stock final. Lincoln Lemieux (Lemieux Racing/Ski-doo), fresh of his big win in the ECS Challenge at Plattsburgh, grabbed the Holeshot and led the first 11 laps. After Poirier took command at lap 12, Corin Todd (Camara Racing/Arctic Cat) charged his way to third in the closing laps. At the end of 16 grueling laps, it was Poirier, Lemieux and Todd. Poirier’s margin of victory was a mere two seconds.

The quaint little town of of Boonville is known throughout the snowbelt as host to one of sled racing’s crown jewels. And this year, a different form of snowmobile racing is headed for Upstate New York
to begin a new era in winter entertainment.

Return visit to Plattsburgh, NY, next stop for East Coast Snocross Series, Presented by AMSOIL and Woody’s Traction


CHESHIRE, Conn. (Jan. 9, 2012) – After a highly-successful debut in January of 2011, the excitement of championship snocross competition is returning to Plattsburgh in 2012.
Race teams from around New York and New England are anxious to get back on the snow and fire the engines, as officials at East Coast Snocross (ECS) get set for Round 2 on the nine-race 2011-2012 campaign this Saturday and Sunday, January 14-15, at the Crete Civic Center in beautiful Plattsburgh, New York.
