The race was halted after 112 of the scheduled 150 laps by rain, shortly after Hoar used a three-wide move on a Lap 110 restart to move into the Top-5 for the first time. Hoar started 11th in the 30-car field and was beginning to work around the fourth-place car when the rains finally came. It was the fourth-straight Top-6 finish for the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. We came out with a fifth, and when the caution came out, we were passing for fourth. The beauty of it was, I felt like with enough laps and not getting rained out, we had a car to bid for the win – or certainly a Top-3.

“I’m super-pleased, because where we were a year ago or even the start of this year on the flat tracks, we’re a long ways ahead of where we were.”

WHERE DID YOU GUYS TURN A CORNER WITH YOUR FLAT-TRACK PROGRAM?

“We made a lot of progress. We’ve worked really, really hard on the flat-track setups for the last month and a half, and I’m really pleased with the progress. It started last week at (the TD Bank Oxford 250) – we tested hard and tried a lot of stuff, and overall, we were really pleased with the performance of the car. We came here (to Beech Ridge), and the car was really good. It was really good.

“It was good all day long in practice. We tried some things back and forth to make it better, but we ended up right where we unloaded – which was where we came from loading it on the truck at Oxford.”

DID YOU KNOW YOU WOULD BE AS GOOD OVER THE LONG RUN AS YOU WERE?

“It’s a completely different setup for us. It’s an entirely different setup under the car than anything we’ve used before. We were guessing a little bit going into the start of the feature, but I was super-pleased. At the end of the race, the car’s performance was fantastic.”

RPM Motorsports: ACT Late Model Tour Brian Hoar Beech Ridge Race Report Eight-time ACT Late Model Tour champion Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., finished fifth in the rain-shortened ACT 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, July 28.
