NORTH WOODSTOCK, N.H. \u2013 Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, rallied late to finish fourth in the PASS North Series 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, N.H., on Sunday, August 12. Doiron was spun from behind early after a number of cars stacked up exiting Turn 4, only to drive all the way from 20 on the ensuing restart to fourth in less than 100 laps. The No. 73 JBJ Machine\/Scarborough Downs Chevrolet battled an engine issue \u2013 including excessive heat inside the cockpit \u2013 to post his fifth Top-10 finish at the track in six career starts. The race was called complete after 123 laps due to rain.

JOEY, YOU HAD AN EVENTFUL DAY TODAY.<\/p>\n

All day, we were probably the second-best car behind (eventual winner DJ Shaw). I think if we would have gotten down to the end of it, we might have had something for him. <\/p>\n

Early in the race, the motor started laying down on us \u2013 and having a crate motor here, it’s already at a disadvantage. Less power than that off the corners, you can hold your ground all right, but it’s hard to make any forward progress.<\/p>\n

WHAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU SPUN ON LAP 26?<\/p>\n

We were doing pretty good there at the beginning and we got spun out. It was just a racing deal. We ended up having to go to the rear, and coming back from the rear is hard. It’s hard to pass that many cars without much power.<\/p>\n

We’ll take it. It’s a better finish than I thought we were going to have. We’ll get this whole thing ironed out on why the motor won’t run here, and then we’ll come back.
\nDID YOU WANT TO SEE THE RACE RESTARTED AFTER IT WAS CALLED OFF FOR RAIN?<\/p>\n

I wanted to go back to green. Realistically, in the points we have nothing to lose. I think maybe if the car could have cooled down a little bit, if it was the fuel that was boiling down, we might have been alright for those last 27 laps.
