\"\"<\/a>\"ACT<\/a>RPM Motorsports Inches Closer To ACT Late Model Tour Lead<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., retook the lead with less than 10 laps remaining and went on to win the ACT Late Model Tour Can-Am 200 at Circuit Riverside Speedway on Saturday night, August 25. The win was Hoar’s third of the season and his third consecutive at Riverside.<\/p>\n

\u201cThree in a row \u2013 man, I love this place,\u201d said Hoar, who now has five career ACT victories at the track. \u201cIt was as an awesome race. We had a really good car, and we just bided our time. (Jean-Francois Dery) was really good, and he used it up finally. We just kept the pressure on him all night long.\u201d
\n<\/p>\n

With the victory for the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge Charger, Hoar gained ground in the ACT championship standings. He’s a close third with two point races remaining.<\/p>\n

Hoar, the eight-time ACT Late Model Tour champion, started fifth in the 36-car field. He chased Dery throughout the first half of the event, finally closing on him with 10 laps remaining. After making an initial pass for the lead \u2013 and then losing it again briefly \u2013 Hoar rallied with a crossover move through Turns 1 and 2 on the trapezoid-shaped track to take the lead and win the race.<\/p>\n

It was Hoar’s record 36th-career win in an ACT points race.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was a special win for us,\u201d Hoar said. \u201c(Car owner and crew chief Rick Paya) has had a rough week and a half with a broken leg. It was all crew members on hand to help out, and we had the biggest crew of the year. Everybody helped out and worked hard.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was pretty awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now Hoar will focus on the the final two points races of the year as he looks to add an unprecedented ninth championship trophy to his collection.<\/p>\n
