(Sept. 21, 2012) \u2013 New Hampshire Motor Speedway officials announced this morning that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will return for two races in 2013, with the first race scheduled for July 14 and the second for Sept. 22.<\/p>\n<p>The SYLVANIA 300, the second race in NASCAR\u2019s Chase for the Sprint Cup championship, is still two days away, but \u201cThe Magic Mile\u201d is already looking forward to next year.<br \/>\n<!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are full steam ahead for our race this Sunday, but we\u2019re also tremendously honored to have the opportunity to do this all over again next year,\u201d said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway. \u201cThis has been an extremely exciting season and we are privileged to be an integral part in determining NASCAR\u2019s champion. It\u2019s going to be a long winter, but I think I can speak for everyone here at \u2018The Magic Mile\u2019 when I say we can\u2019t wait for the 2013 season to begin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NASCAR\u2019s premier stock car division has been racing twice a year at NHMS since 1997. It has hosted a race in the Chase since the playoff\u2019s inception in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>NHMS has certainly proven to be an unpredictable track, as Kasey Kahne won the July race, becoming the ninth different winner in the last nine races to find Victory Lane at the 1.058-mile oval.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe main reason why we have both races again next year is because of the enthusiastic support of our race fans in New England,\u201d said Gappens. \u201cThe drivers know this is a great place to compete and the fans know it&#8217;s an amazing place to watch a race.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who renews tickets to both NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races \u2013 the New Hampshire 300 on July 14 and SYLVANIA 300 on Sept. 22 \u2013 by Jan. 15, 2013 will be enrolled in our Loud&#8217;N&#8217;Proud Perks Program.
