It’s really wide. My preference is a little narrower track, but we’ve got a pretty good package on the flat tracks and we’ve been decent there.

“I haven’t had the best finishes there, but speed-wise and handling-wise I feel like I’ve always had a car that could win on the flat tracks. It suits my driving style. Growing up on Beech Ridge where it’s momentum based and has flat corners – Oxford’s more of what I learned to drive on than the quarter-miles and bullrings that we go to. I run good on those, but it’s not necessarily the type of track I grew up on.”

On looking forward to getting back to Oxford Plains this weekend: “The last two times we’ve gone to Oxford, we’ve probably been one of the top three cars there. In July, I felt I had the best car – but it always seems something happens. We had an electrical failure last October, we got taken out in the heat race for no reason in July. It was a long night.

“After the 300 (at Beech Ridge two weeks ago), with everything we overcame, there’s no reason we can’t go and win this weekend.”

On rebounding from bad luck the last two weeks: “To be honest, the last few weeks the finishes haven’t reflected the car I’ve been given. I just want to get everybody a finish we deserve.

“Still, I keep looking back at the start of year, and I said that our goal for this year was to win a race, and we did that in the season opener. No matter where we finish this weekend or where we finish in points – with everything we’ve done, we’ve met our goals. Next year, we’ll just need to set our goals a little higher.”

Joey Doiron Racing: PASS North Series Oxford Plains Speedway Race Preview Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, looks to put an exclamation point on the season with the PASS North Series holds its final race of 2012 with the PASS 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Sunday, September 30.
