{"id":11327,"date":"2013-01-05T19:04:33","date_gmt":"2013-01-06T00:04:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=11327"},"modified":"2013-01-05T19:04:33","modified_gmt":"2013-01-06T00:04:33","slug":"full-slate-of-events-pack-25th-motorsports-expo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2013\/01\/full-slate-of-events-pack-25th-motorsports-expo\/","title":{"rendered":"Full Slate Of Events Pack 25th Motorsports Expo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AUGUSTA, Maine \u2013 More than a dozen seminars and special events, including a question and answer session with two former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers, marks the quarter-century anniversary of the Northeast Motorsports Expo.<\/p>\n<p>With track and series displays, industry vendors, driver autograph sessions and more, the Northeast Motorsports Expo returns to the Augusta Civic Center from Jan. 11-13, 2013. Ricky Craven and Steve Park \u2013 who each have Sprint Cup Series wins on their New England-based resumes \u2013 will participate in a \u201cPassing The Mic\u201d seminar at 8 p.m. on the show&#8217;s opening night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a great lineup of events taking place all weekend,\u201d said Expo promoter Steve Perry, owner of the Mainely Motorsports television show. \u201cThere&#8217;s something for everybody, too \u2013 from fans to crew members to drivers. I think this will be our best Expo yet.\u201d<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThere are two \u201cPassing The Mic\u201d sessions scheduled for this year&#8217;s Expo after its debut in 2012. Craven, currently a popular member of ESPN&#8217;s NASCAR coverage on television, and Park, the only driver ever to compete in five different NASCAR divisions at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, will provide expertise in \u201cVoices Of Experience\u201d on Friday, Jan. 11. Park will also be on hand at the New England Racing Fuels booth throughout the weekend to sign autographs and meet with fans.<\/p>\n<p>A panel of New England media members will once again participate in \u201cThe Media Speaks Out\u201d on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 4 p.m. Perry, four-time NASCAR K&#038;N Pro Series East champion Andy Santerre, Karl Fredrickson of Speedway Illustrated, Travis Barrett of GWC Motorsports Marketing and Mike Twist of Speed 51 are scheduled to be part of the panel.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most highly-anticipated new events is the Last Chance Motorsports Pit Stop Challenge which encourages fans to try their hand at completing an actual pit stop. Teams will be entered in a race against the clock, with the best teams of the entire weekend squaring off in the finals on Sunday, Jan. 13 at noon.<\/p>\n<p>New to the 2013 Northeast Motorsports Expo are three seminars, including \u201cGrassroots Motorsports Marketing\u201d presented by Texas Roadhouse and the Northeast Mini Stock Tour. There will also be a seminar for spotters and an all-day body shop seminar Saturday presented by Quirk Auto.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of people have stepped up to make this event what it is, and I can&#8217;t thank them enough,\u201d Perry said. \u201cTeam EJP, Quirk Auto, Heluva Good!, New England Racing Fuel and Mainely Motorsports have all played large roles in keeping the tradition that is the Northeast Motorsports Expo going.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 25th annual Northeast Motorsports Expo kicks off at 5 p.m. On Friday, January 11, and runs through 3 p.m. On Sunday, January 13.
