(Jan. 18, 2013) &#8211; Within the vast Empire State of New York, one town stands above the rest as a place to relax and take in the view. At the south end of beautiful Lake George is its namesake village, known as a four-season haven among those who love the outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>This popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts is about to witness an invasion, as teams and officials at East Coast Snocross (ECS) get set for Round 3 on the eight-race 2012-2013 schedule on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 26-27, in beautiful Lake George, New York. The track is being built at the intersection of Beach Road and West Brook Road.<\/p>\n<p>Spectator gates open at 10:30 a.m. each day, with amateur qualifying rounds already in progress. Pro racing begins at 12:30 p.m. both days with Pro finals set for 3 p.m. Admission is $12 per day for adults, $5 for children ages 8-12, age 7 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes valid through the weekend will be available for an extra $10.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Each day will feature qualifying rounds and finals for riders in five major divisions; Pro, Pro Lite, Sport, Junior and Women. There is also a Trail class (700cc max.) for those looking to give snocross a try in an affordable manner.<\/p>\n<p>This exciting weekend of championship snocross competition is proudly presented by King Neptune&#8217;s Pub and Extreme Snowmobile Rentals of Lake George. King Neptune&#8217;s is known for live music and good times; while Extreme Snowmobile Rentals is part of Extreme Off-Road Sports, known among the snowmobile crowd for their guided tours up scenic Prospect Mountain.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the charge into Lake George is Pro rider and New York native Corin Todd. The young athlete from Otego is having a career-best season, winning two finals and the first round of qualifying in the 2013 Triple Crown Series. Todd&#8217;s teammate at the Bailey\/Hulten Polaris squad is none other than Danny Poirier, a multi-time champion from St. Theodore, Quebec. Poirier has already won this season and will be a threat to win again in Lake George.<\/p>\n<p>Another young athlete making his mark in snocross this winter is Vermont native Lincoln Lemieux. The third-generation racer from St. Johnsbury won last Sunday in Plattsburgh, NY, with a dominant performance. Keep an eye on the Lemieux Racing Ski-doo next weekend in Lake George.<\/p>\n<p>Riders to watch in the Pro Lite division include Massachusetts natives Montana Jess and Mike Pilotte. Jess, of Westminster, notched his first career victory as a red-hot rookie last Saturday in Plattsburgh. Pilotte, of Fall River, swept the finals in Round 1 last month at Vermont&#8217;s Burke Mountain. He also won Round 1 of Triple Crown qualifying for Pro Lite riders last weekend.<br \/>\nOther riders to watch in Pro Lite include Jesse James Bonaduce, Andrew Bailey and Eddie Bandel. Bonaduce hails from Somerville, NJ, while Bailey (Malone) and &#8220;Big Air&#8221; Bandel (Mohawk) are both New York natives.<\/p>\n<p>Riders to watch in the Sport classes include Connor Roscoe, Hunter Patenaude and Tyler Brancifort. Roscoe, of Cheshire, Conn., is hot off a sweep in Sport Super Stock and Sport 600 last weekend. Patenaude, of Hartland, VT, won the Super Stock final last Saturday and is always a threat to land on the podium, as is Brancifort.<\/p>\n<p>East Coast Snocross, presented by AMSOIL and Woody&#8217;s Traction, is the eastern affiliate of International Series of Champions (ISOC), the national sanctioning body for snocross.
