Reed will make his season debut in the PRO Late Model Series this Saturday night at Dillon (SC) Motor Speedway in a 75-lap support event for the Pro All Star Series (PASS).<br \/>\nAustin Reed set for action at Dillon (SC) Motor Speedway this weekend in his Pro Late Model.<br \/>\nPhoto by Sal Sigala Jr.<\/p>\n<p>Reed will pilot the #14 Approved Memory\/K&amp;N Filters\/Lucas Oil Chevrolet on Saturday with the support of Beattie Racing. The car is the same car the Kyle Bettie used to score a pole award with last season.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This car is fast,&#8221; Reed said. &#8220;I hear that there are going to be over 25 cars for the race so we will need to get the most out of the car in qualifying.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Reed knows a good finish starts with a solid qualifying lap. &#8220;The Pro Late Models have a two tire rule and short races so you need to be smart with how hard you abuse the right side tires.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Moving back to North Carolina last fall, Reed has had his hands full just getting to know the area. This trip to Dillon will be his first. &#8220;I hear it is a fast track,&#8221; Reed offered. &#8220;I am just looking forward to racing this season and getting to know all the competitors.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Reed is finishing his second semester in college focused on a Mechanical Engineering degree. What he learns in the classroom he applies working in the race shop at Beattie Racing. &#8220;I do not get to the shop as much as I want because of my school schedule, but when I am there it is all about building cars that go fast.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Reed and the Beattie team are building a brand new car to run later in the season back East. Reed will also continue to drive his USLCI Legend car at select races throughout the year including the Prestigious Legends Summer Shootout at Charlotte (NC) Motor Speedway.
