{"id":11885,"date":"2013-03-24T07:20:35","date_gmt":"2013-03-24T11:20:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=11885"},"modified":"2013-03-23T07:21:10","modified_gmt":"2013-03-23T11:21:10","slug":"wiscasset-speedway-set-to-re-open-for-2013-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2013\/03\/wiscasset-speedway-set-to-re-open-for-2013-season\/","title":{"rendered":"WISCASSET SPEEDWAY SET TO RE-OPEN FOR 2013 SEASON"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/maineracing.com\/wp\/?attachment_id=9644\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9644\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-9644\" alt=\"Wiscasset2013logo\" src=\"http:\/\/maineracing.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Wiscasset2013logo-300x83.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"83\" \/><\/a>WISCASSET SPEEDWAY SET TO RE-OPEN FOR 2013 SEASON<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">(Lisa Maguire)<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The racing season is upon us again, and Wiscasset Speedway will be celebrating its 44<sup>th<\/sup> year with an action packed itinerary.\u00a0 New owners, Richard and Vanessa Jordan, invite race fans everywhere to bring their families and come join in the fun.\u00a0 The 3\/8 mile high banked track is set to open on April 6 at 1:00 PM, and hold divisional races on Saturdays\u2019 through Fall Fury on October 5, 2013.\u00a0 Wiscasset Speedway first opened in 1969, and to this day remains the fastest in the state.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">This year, in an effort to provide a timely and action packed show,\u00a0the\u00a0new management team\u00a0has decided to\u00a0split their\u00a0regular divisions into two groups that will alternate week to week.\u00a0 Group one will feature Prostock, Superstock, Thunder 4\u2019s, and Northeast 4 cylinder Prostocks divisions.\u00a0 Group two will showcase Late Model Sportsman, Strickly Streets, Outlaw Mini\u2019s, and Mini Trucks. \u00a0Also on the schedule are exciting enduro races, Nelcar Legends, Northeast Mini Stock Tour, The Wicked Vintage Racers, and more.\u00a0 Wiscasset will run a Saturday afternoon program throughout the month of April and then bring the action under the lights beginning in May.<!--more--><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<!--more--><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The opening day schedule will have Pit gates open at 8:00AM with practice beginning at 9:00AM and Grandstand gates opening at 11:00AM. The green flag will drop at 1:00PM.The track offers plenty of free parking, and admission is only $5 per person, with children 6 and under free.\u00a0 Wiscasset Speedway is located on the West Alna Road in Wiscasset, Maine.
