\"payea<\/a>Weekend Brings Success For Crazy Horse Racing<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

LEE, N.H. \u2013 It was a banner day for Crazy Horse Racing teams in the ACT Late Model Tour season opener at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H., on Sunday, April 14.<\/p>\n

Two teams affiliated with the organization qualified in the Top-10 to make the 30-car starting field, and two brand new cars built by Crazy Horse Racing this winter finished in the Top-10 of the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150.<\/p>\n

Veteran Milton, Vt., racer Scott Payea finished 10th at Lee USA after qualifying seventh for the feature event in his first time on the track with the new No. 89 to lead the Crazy Horse contingent on Sunday, while ACT Rookie of the Year candidate Travis Stearns finished a career-best eighth in the new Richard Green Racing No. 16 after starting 24th.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the car had even more in it,\u201d Stearns said. \u201cAt one point (crew chief Mickey Green) came over the radio and said I looked like a new man, but I told him I wasn’t going any faster. The other guys were just coming back to me. Our car was consistent the whole day.\u201d<\/p>\n

New Hampshire’s Todd Davis qualified a career-high fourth for the event, while teammate Luke Hinkley also qualified for the race after being among the fastest cars in practice throughout the weekend.
\nTWO FOR TWO AT WATERFORD: 2010 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national champion Keith Rocco of Wallingford, Conn., won the 30-lap Late Model feature at Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday night.
\nIt was Rocco’s second straight win to open the season in the No. 1 Scott Fearn-owned ride.<\/p>\n

Rocco won after spending most of Saturday at nearby Thompson International Speedway as part of practice and qualifying day for Sunday’s annual season-opening Icebreaker. He arrived at Waterford in time to start the Late Model feature event without the benefit of practice time at the .333-mile track.
\nWISCASSET WIN: Veteran Doug Coombs of Livermore Falls, Maine, won the opening 45-lap Late Model feature of the season at Wiscasset Speedway on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The longtime Oxford Plains Speedway competitor recovered from an early-race spin while battling for the top spot to take the lead for good on Lap 38.<\/p>\n

TESTING DAY: Three new Pro Late Model teams tested at Oxford Plains Speedway on Sunday during the track’s annual open test day.<\/p>\n

Chris Coolidge, Don Wentworth and Gary Chiasson all joined a group of PASS Super Late Models and Oxford Championship Series Pro Late Models at the .375-mile oval. Though there were a couple of rain delays during the day, it was the first chance for drivers competing in the new division to get a feel for their cars.
\n\u201cIt felt good to get out on the track,\u201d Coolidge said of the test. \u201cWe were really happy with how it went \u2013 already looking forward to next weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n
