Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT leads the Modified point standings, with Richie Turner of Fairfax, VT on top in the Renegades and Chris LaVair of Gabriels, NY pacing the Mini Stocks; Friday\u2019s event was scheduled to be the championship opener for the Late Model division.<\/p>\n<p>The Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT is still scheduled for Sunday, May 26 at 1:30pm as planned.  The event hosts the opening rounds for the Vermont State Late Model Championship Series and the new Northern Modified Challenge Series; the Northern Modified Challenge Series event will award 50 bonus points toward the Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway Modified championship to each participating driver.<\/p>\n<p>The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series returns to Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway on Friday, May 31 at 7 p.m. as Whelen Engineering presents racing for the Modified, Late Model, and Mini Stock divisions as well as the opening round of the four-race Enduro Series.<\/p>\n<p>From New England Dragway in Epping, NH comes this item. For the June 20-23 NHRA New England Mello Yello Nationals, due to the increasing need for Reserved Seating we have designated Bleacher 19 to the Reserved Seating Bleachers. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 800-844-NHRA (6472). Tickets are going fast so don&#8217;t miss out.<\/p>\n<p>How would you like to go to the races, and win $10,000? No you don\u2019t have to be driving a racecar, you just need to be holding the lucky admission ticket stub, and you will get a chance to roll the dice in the all new Cullenburg and Tensen PLLC game called Race Cash Fever.<\/p>\n<p>Starting on the dirt track Friday night, May 31, three lucky race fans will have their tickets drawn at intermission. They will then sign a waiver, and roll the giant dice one at a time. If all five dice show Cullenburg &#038; Tensen you win $10,000. If you don\u2019t win, you will at least win a free ticket for next week\u2019s races. If there is no winner the game heads to the asphalt track where it will be played for the first time beginning Saturday, June 1. Be There!!!  <\/p>\n<p>This past Saturday, the weather dampened the spirits of the highly anticipated special event at the high banks of Monadnock Speedway. The track management announced due to inclement weather, the David\u2019s House 106 featuring the Granite State Pro Stock Series would have to be postponed to Saturday, June 1. <\/p>\n<p>The special event will be filled plenty of racing action as the fans will be treated to stars from the past with the STAR Antique Racers to the present with the 2013 debut of the Granite State Pro Stocks Series.  The event will also include the speedway\u2019s regular divisions of Sportsman Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Thunder Stocks, Lightning Stocks and Young Guns. Race Time is at 6 p.m. with practice starting at 3 p.m. Pit gates will open at 1pm, main gate opens at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Thunder Road officials announced this morning that NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Clint Bowyer will be participating in the Vermont Lottery Commission Governor\u2019s Cup at Barre, VT\u2019s Thunder Road on Thursday, July 11.<\/p>\n<p>Bowyer, who currently sits fourth overall on the Sprint Cup Series, will pilot a Crazy Horse racing Toyota Camry in the 150-lap event.  His car will be painted to match his #15 Michael Waltrip racing ride that he currently drives in NASCAR\u2019s top division.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think Clint Bowyer is about as \u2018old school\u2019 a racer as NASCAR has,\u2019\u201d said long-time Thunder Road Promoter Tom Curley.  \u201cTo have guys like Tony Stewart and now Bowyer come to the Governor\u2019s Cup race at the \u201cNation\u2019s Site of Excitement\u201d is a great thing for our fans and teams at Thunder Road,\u201d he finished.<\/p>\n<p>Bowyer has captured 8 Sprint Cup victories since his rookie season in 2006 and over 200 wins and numerous championships in everything from Motocross to Modifieds.  The 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion was runner-up to Brad Keselowski in last year\u2019s Sprint Cup title chase.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he\u2019s one of a kind,\u201d said Thunder Road co-owner Ken Squier. \u201cHe\u2019s a top talent in auto racing, and he\u2019s got a lot of personality.  I can\u2019t wait to see him duke it out on the high banks with our local guys,\u201d he finished.<\/p>\n<p>The Vermont Lottery Commission Governor\u2019s Cup will roll on Thursday, July 11 at Barre\u2019s Thunder Road.
