{"id":13189,"date":"2013-06-18T10:00:44","date_gmt":"2013-06-18T14:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/?p=13189"},"modified":"2013-06-18T05:17:53","modified_gmt":"2013-06-18T09:17:53","slug":"33-vintage-el-caminos-burn-up-the-track-at-lee-speedway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/2013\/06\/33-vintage-el-caminos-burn-up-the-track-at-lee-speedway\/","title":{"rendered":"33 Vintage El Caminos Burn up the Track at Lee Speedway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[nggallery id=96]<br \/>\nPhoto Credit:ALISON MINITER OF CARS2ART GALLERY<\/p>\n<p>June 16, 2013, North Andover MA &#8212; Members of the National El Camino Owners Association (NECOA) returned this past weekend for their 5th visit to Lee USA Speedway for their annual Parade Laps and \u201cBurnout Contest.\u201d  Track Owner Red McDonald hosted the owners of these unique vehicles to put on a show for race fans just before the feature races of the night to allow the NASCAR drivers more time to ready themselves after their qualifying heats.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n33 El Caminos from all over New England put on an entertaining show for the race fans with their rainbow of colors in these half-car\/half-truck vehicles, produced from 1959 through 1987 by General Motors.  For the second year in a row, Aj DiRocco of Pelham, NH won the burn out contest by a clear majority of the cheering fans and did not have to face off against other El Camino drivers.
