SCARBOROUGH, Maine \u2013 Bobby Timmons III of Windham, Maine, finished third in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Miller Lite 50 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Friday, July 5. It was Timmons’ third Top-3 finish in the last four starts in the Mulkern Racing No. 48 Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep\/Timmons Machine Dodge as he continues climbing toward the top of the Pro Series point standings. Timmons started ninth in the caution-free main event and spent most of the race challenging for the runner-up spot while trying to chase down the leader. In six races this season, Timmons now has five Top-5 finishes.<\/p>\n

BOBBY, HOW GOOD WAS YOUR CAR TONIGHT?<\/b><\/p>\n

We definitely had a good car. We tried a little tire strategy (in practice) but it didn’t work, so we went back to what we were doing. Third again \u2013 third time in four weeks \u2013 that’s good with me. We’ve only been out of the Top-5 only once this year. I think we’re probably the only one who can say that.<\/p>\n

I probably could have used a yellow tonight to shake things up a little bit. But I’m happy with third, it was a good points night and we beat everybody we needed to beat except for the 40 car. He was going pretty well. Congrats to Tyler King. They’ve been here a long time and finally turned their program around and got the win.
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

WERE YOU CONTENT TO RIDE BEHIND THE NO. 40 FOR A WHILE?<\/b><\/p>\n

As the tires got hotter, the car got worse on the inside. It was kind of a double-edged sword. My dad said to set in behind the 40 and see if we could run (King) down, but there just wasn’t enough time. The 11 was going pretty good.<\/p>\n

WHERE DID YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE GETTING BEAT?<\/b><\/p>\n

I tried one more time with about 10 to go to get by the 40, and I just couldn’t do it. That’s the only thing that’s hindering us right now \u2013 there’s just no bite on (corner) exit on the bottom. With Alan (Tardiff) a couple weeks ago and last week in the 100-lapper, it happened again. That’s our only weak spot right now.<\/p>\n
