OXFORD, Maine \u2013 Bradley Babb of Windham, Maine, failed to qualify for the 40th annual TD Bank Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Sunday, July 21. Babb was leading his second-round qualifying race when his engine let go on Lap 7, ending his bid to start in the annual midsummer classic for the second time in his career. A field of 64 cars entered the race with 34 qualifying based on several rounds of heat racing and seven spots being filled by guaranteed starting spots.<\/p>\n

BRADLEY, WHAT HAPPENED?<\/strong>
\nI was leading the consi, and the motor let go. I had no idea it was coming. I’m not really sure what to do about it.
\nWe haven’t had any issues with motors really ever. It’s a McGunegill that my dad ran for a whole season last year. It doesn’t even really have a whole season on it really. I know that (Aaron) Ricker had a couple of them go on him last year, so I probably won’t be going with another one.<\/p>\n

HOW WAS THE CAR DURING THE DAY IN QUALIFYING?<\/strong>
\nIt wasn’t perfect. In the heat (race), it was kind of horrible, but we got it a lot better for the consi. It was definitely drivable. I think I would have held on and won it. There’s just nothing you can do about it.<\/p>\n

HOW DISAPPOINTING IS IT TO NOT MAKE THE RACE?<\/strong>
\nWell, it depends how you look at it. There’s more cars, so there’s less of a chance to make it. But either way, I just want to dig a hole, crawl in and not come out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
