Gray snaps Giguere\u2019s unbeaten streak in the Limited Late Models<\/em><\/p>\n BRADFORD, VT \u2013Chris Donnelly once again used the topside to roll to victory in the Bond Auto Parts DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds during 99ROCK Weekly Racing Series action on Perry Oil service Night at Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday. The veteran racer, who started 21st in the 22 car field used numerous early race cautions to his advantage and blasted into the lead on lap 28 of the 40 lap affair. Rookies Derek Barker and Adam Gage waged a torrid battle up front which continued for the runner up spot for the remainder of the race. Barker would come home second with current point leader Kevin Chaffee making a last lap pass for third. Gage was fourth and Tim Hodge completed the top five.<\/p>\n USAC Dirt Midget action found Adam Pierson in victory lane again in an absolutely dominating performance. Pierson, who rode the rim to front in only ten laps from his 14th starting spot, steadily pulled away after taking the lead and took the victory by over four seconds. Former Champion Joe Krawiec had his best run of the season to finish second with Tim Gallant third, Scott Holcomb fourth and early leader Rookie Dylan Duhaime fifth. East Thetford, VT rookie Brandon Gray finally broke Jason Giguere\u2019s season long winning streak with a photo finish win in the Laquerre\u2019s Sports Limited Late Model Feature. Giguere finished a scat .027 seconds behind Gray with Brian Chaffee claiming third. Jeremy Hodge was fourth with Matt Ellsworth fifth.<\/p>\n Kevin Harran of St. Johnsbury, VT was the winner of the 20-lap Weglarz Property Service Fast Four feature. Harran, the division\u2019s defending champion, held off White River Junction, VT\u2019s Tim Martin and Chris Conroy for the win. Bear Ridge Speedway\u2019s 46th season of stock car racing continues on Saturday, August 3rd as Interstate Batteries of Newmont presents the 99ROCK Weekly Racing Series Modified, Coupe, Late Model, Fast Four, and Hornet divisions, along with the Granite State Mini Sprints and Kids Bicycle Races. General admission is $10 for adults (age 18-61), $8 for teens (12-17) and seniors (62+), and $2 for children; Visa and MasterCard are accepted. \nVeteran driver Melvin Pierson ran to his second victory of the season in the 30-lap Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupe feature after a brief battle with early leader Josh Harrington. Reigning Champion Harrington would claim second with Rookie Danny Doyle third. Rick Fletcher and Jason Horniak completed the top five.<\/p>\n
\nRookie Michael Phelps grabbed his First KDD NAPA Auto Parts Hornet victory, inheriting the lead after race leader Mike Ryan\u2019s car shut down the races\u2019 only caution. Eric Post, Bobby Bell, Brent Warren and Mike Lique completed the top 5.<\/p>\n
