\"IMG_3812\"<\/a>WEST HAVEN, VT \u2013 Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway will make up for Mother Nature\u2019s recent interference with double feature races for its NASCAR Whelen All-American Series stock car divisions at Brown\u2019s Quarried Slate\/Brown\u2019s Orchard & Farm Stand Night on Friday, August 16. In order to help drivers and race fans make up for lost ground due to rainouts, twin races have been scheduled for the Bond Auto Parts Modified and Late Model divisions, while the Central Vermont Motorcycles Mini Stocks will run a three-segment special event postponed by last week\u2019s rain.<\/p>\n

Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT has built a remarkable record of seven Modified victories in 11 feature events in 2013 and retains the championship point lead entering the Brown\u2019s event. Young guns Hunter Bates and Jessey Mueller are grouped tightly together with veterans Vince Quenneville, Jr., and Ron Proctor as they all chase Stone down.

\n\"IMG_3507\"<\/a>Late Model and Mini Stock point battles are extremely close with just three events remaining. Late Model veteran Chris Bergeron of Claremont, NH has just six points on rookie Josh Masterson, with fellow freshman Brandon Atkins only 27 points behind. The top six drivers are separated by only 48 points. Jake Noble of Benson, VT has little room for error in the Mini Stocks, with a small seven-point advantage on rookie Chuck Bradford and just 17 points on Chris LaVair.<\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s Brown\u2019s Quarried Slate\/Brown\u2019s Orchard & Farm Stand Night will also feature the third round of the wild-and-crazy Enduro Series with a metal-crunching 50-lap race. \u201cWild Bill\u201d Fountain of Altona, NY leads the Enduro Series by a scant four points with Eric \u201cMongo\u201d Messier, Tyler Rhoades, Andy \u201cMowgli\u201d Botala, and Kevin Sorel in hot pursuit. Enduro races are run with virtually street-legal vehicles and without yellow flags; the races are only stopped by a red flag in case of emergency.<\/p>\n

Racing action on Brown\u2019s Quarried Slate\/Brown\u2019s Orchard & Farm Stand Night begins at 7:00pm on Friday, August 16. Regular general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and free for children 12 and under. Special attractions include the \u201cFun Bus\u201d pit area and race track tour for race fans of all ages, the \u201cDevil\u2019s Den\u201d lounge for fans age 21+, and the Daredevil \u201ccommunity\u201d racing division.<\/p>\n
