BRADFORD, VT \u2013 Bradford, VT resident Brian Chaffee churned out a gritty performance on Dead River Oil Company Night at Bear Ridge Speedway on Saturday, winning the 20-lap Laquerre\u2019s Sports Limited Late Model Feature. Chaffee, who started the feature from sixth on the ultra-fast track stormed to the lead in only three laps and then held off a hard charging Matt Ellsworth for the win. Point leader Jason Giguere claimed third with Jeremy Hodge and former champion Tyler Stygles rounding out the top five.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately rain claimed the rest of the Feature programs for the evening as after a late start due to an intense afternoon storm, the rain later returned and caused another delay. After working the track back into shape it was smooth, tacky and fast, it didn\u2019t last however as the rain returned for a third time just as the Bond Auto DIRTcar Sportsman Modified feature was poised to take the green, forcing the postponement of the rest of the program. At press time no decision has been make when to make up the remaining events.

\nBear Ridge Speedway\u2019s 46th season of stock car racing continues on Saturday, September 8 as Mekkelsen RV presents a Racing Against Cancer benefit along with the 99ROCK Weekly Racing Series Modified, Coupe, Late Model, Fast Four, and Hornet divisions, plus the USAC Dirt Midget Association. Regular general admission is $10 for adults (age 18-61), $8 for teens (12-17) and seniors (62+), and $2 for children; Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Racing begins at the famous \u201c6:00-ish\u201d start time.<\/p>\n
