\"GSPS2\"Walpole, NH-<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>With one race already in the books for the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS), competitors are preparing for a date with Monadnock Speedway May 24.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u00bc mile bullring is located in Winchester, NH, and has been host to four events in the early life of the GSPSS, and creates tight, door-to-door battles and good, hard racing.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Drivers like Barry Gray and Matt Frahm are no stranger to this speedway, as both have picked up wins in the series at this facility.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To say Gray could drive Monadnock Speedway with his eyes closed may not be a huge stretch for the Belchertown, MA driver.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Gray has at least 6 championships between Late Models and Pro Stocks at Monadnock, including a New Hampshire State Championship involving the Winchester, NH speedway and Twin State Speedway in Claremont, NH.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Gray has two wins at Monadnock with the GSPSS, and has finished outside the top 10 once in four starts, boasting an average feature finish of 5.5.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>The driver of the Meadows Motor Car\/ Hawley\u2019s Auto Repair Chevrolet looks to this track to surge forward in the standings.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cThere\u2019s so many good competitors in this series, it\u2019s going to be tough no matter where we go,\u201d Gray states.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cBut our chances are better than average at Monadnock, as long as luck is on our side.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hampstead, NH driver Matt Frahm has also picked up a win at Monadnock in a GSPSS ride.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Frahm, a former Nationwide Series driver, had a strong car in both races last year, but feels the car was not where he wanted it to be.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cWe had a really good car there last year, but we had some areas to improve on,\u201d admits Frahm.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cI feel like we\u2019ve done that with our set up this year.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Frahm loves the touring aspect of the series, but looks forward to going to Monadnock for both events in the 2014 season.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>The hard-working Frahm says the team\u2019s preparation is taken very seriously each and every race.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cWe are very meticulous on and off track.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>We work hard in the shop during the week.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Every time I show up to the track, I go in with the mindset that we\u2019ve worked hard enough and put enough of our time and effort into it, that we\u2019re going to do whatever we have to do to be good.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The third driver to pick up a victory at Monadnock in the GSPSS is Mike O\u2019Sullivan.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>O\u2019Sullivan, the 2013 series champion, already has put another trophy on the mantel this season, grabbing the checkers at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on April 6.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>O\u2019Sullivan will be scaling back his racing duties in 2014, however, as the birth of his third son last month has taken priority.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Other drivers filing early entries include youngsters Derek Griffith and Brad Babb, Cory Roberts, Mike Parks, and Fran Colson.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
