This year, teams return to Southern National with a hefty notebook to rely on full of data acquired in the series’ four trips to the track in 2013.

Wallkill, NY’s Tyler Dippel is especially looking forward to returning to Southern National for the Dogwood Blossom 150. After competing on a very limited basis with the PASS South Super Late Models last year, the 14-year-old Empire State driver heads back to Southern National Motorsports Park where he qualified in the top 10 for last year’s season-ending Mason Dixon Meltdown. And that’s significant for the young driver. Southern National will be the first return trip for Dippel of any of the tracks he has competed on while racing in PASS South.

“I like small, slick racetracks and Southern National was pretty slick when we went there,” said Dippel. “We have a little bit to build on from Southern National since we went there last year. So, hopefully we can use our prior knowledge from there and get a really good finish.”

It is no surprise that slick racetracks would play to Dippel’s driving style. After all, Dippel cut his teeth racing on the tough dirt tracks of the Northeast. Most recently, Dippel has become one of the top Small Block Modified drivers in New York competing at tracks such as Middletown, Accord, and Lebanon Valley.

Joining with veteran car owner and mechanic Buggy Pletcher this year, Dippel is showing his potential on asphalt as he competes against the top short track drivers in the country. In just seven PASS South Super Late Model starts dating back to last year, Dippel has shown progress each week, recording a PASS South career high third place finish in the Orange Blossom Special at Orange County Speedway back in April. Dippel currently sits fifth in PASS South points and, more importantly, leads the prestigious PASS National Championship standings heading to the 41st Annual Oxford 250 in July.
“I feel pretty good and like everything is starting to come around,” said Dippel, driver of the Tycar Trenchless Technologies Chevrolet. “We struggled a little bit at the beginning of the season, but I feel like it’s just starting to come together and I can’t wait to get back to Southern National.”

Dippel also donates 50-percent of his on-track winnings to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an institution recognized for its treatment of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
Fans can catch Tyler Dippel and all the “Big Boys With The Bad, Fast Toys” from Southern National with live Pay-Per-View coverage of every division competing at the Dogwood Blossom 150 on PASS TV Powered By MotorsportsBroadcasting.com and Race22.com.

Action gets under way on Friday, May 30th at Southern National Motorsports Park with rotating practice for all divisions in the afternoon. On Saturday, May 31st, practice will go from 12:45 PM – 4:20 PM, followed by qualifying at 4:45 PM and racing slated to start start at 7 PM. The PASS South Super Late Models will race for 150 laps, along with a 50 lapper for the PASS Pro Late Models, and action for the Pee Dee/Coastal Supertruck Series.

PASS South and PASS Pro Late Model entry forms for the Dogwood Blossom 150 at Southern National Motorsports Park can be found at ProAllStarsSeries.com.

The Pro All Stars Series is recognized as North America’s premier sanctioning body for asphalt Super Late Models and boasts such marquee events as PASS South’s Easter Bunny 150 at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway, the Autobus La Quebecoise Triple Crown at Autodrome Chaudière, and the legendary Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway.
