(MemorEvents photo)\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/sargen_1200-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/newenglandracingnews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/sargen_1200.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Modified and Mini Stock classes to double up on\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_298210325\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday, June 27<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WEST HAVEN, VT \u2013 Race fans will see double as the on\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_298210326\">Friday, June 27<\/span>\u00a0at Rutland County\u2019s Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway.\u00a0\u00a0Both the Bond Auto Parts Modified and Central Vermont Motorcycles Mini Stock divisions of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series will run twin feature races at the event, in addition to racing for the Renegade and SK Light classes.\u00a0\u00a0A Kids Bicycle Race event is also on tap, open to children of all ages.<\/p>\n<p>The headline Bond Auto Parts Modified class has been very competitive in 2014.\u00a0\u00a0Defending champion Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT has not yet found the dominance he showed last summer, recording just a single victory through the first five races of the season.\u00a0\u00a0He holds a slim 13-point lead on New York veteran Leon Gonyo, with opening day winner Joey Roberts just two more points back.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Jessey Mueller and Jason Durgan have also visited the winner\u2019s circle, and nearly every driver in the field has shown competitive muscle.\u00a0\u00a0Veterans Ron Proctor and Vince Quenneville, Jr., continue to be a force, and the recently-returned Johnny Scarborough is already up to speed.\u00a0\u00a0Up-and-comers Jamie LaFountain, Cody Sargen, Dave Snow, and rookies Billy Lussier and Jason Reome also continue to improve weekly.<\/p>\n<p>The entry-level Central Vermont Motorcycles Mini Stock class has yet to see a repeat winner, and long-time driver John McCarron carried his first checkered flag in last week\u2019s three-segment special event.\u00a0\u00a0Chuck Bradford and defending champion Jake Noble have enjoyed a close battle at the top of the point standings, though McCarron, Mike Whalen, Jr., Lacey Hanson, and brothers Bobby and Chris LaVair lurk closely behind.<\/p>\n<p>Former champion Robert Gordon and 16 year-old Stephen Donahue each have a pair of victories in the Renegade class, while Scott MacMichael, Bruce Jaycox, and Todd Patnode have scored SK Light wins as the division builds a new base at Devil\u2019s Bowl.<\/p>\n<p>The Kids Bicycle Races are open to children of all ages; participants must bring their own bicycle and a helmet in order to compete.\u00a0\u00a0General admission for kids age 12 and under is free, like always, with admission just $12 for adults and $10 for seniors (age 62+).\u00a0\u00a0The \u201cFans First\u201d program will give free admission to all New Hampshire residents who present valid identification.\u00a0\u00a0Gates open at\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_298210327\">5:00 p.m.<\/span>, with racing at\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_298210328\">7:00 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway will also host the annual \u201cCoca-Cola Firecracker\u201d \u2013 Vermont\u2019s biggest and loudest Independence Day celebration \u2013 on\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_298210329\">Friday, July 4<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0The event features a 100-lap Late Model special, the wild-and-crazy Enduro Series, the rest of the weekly racing divisions, and a massive fireworks display.<\/p>\n<p>Devil\u2019s Bowl Speedway is located on Route 22A in West Haven, VT four miles north of Exit 2 on U.S. Route 4.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Modified and Mini Stock classes to double up on\u00a0Friday, June 27 &nbsp;
